Hurricane Sandy-An Act of God or Arrogance of Man

Before we really get started here, first please allow me to offer my thoughts and prayers to those most affected by Hurricane Sandy whether directly or indirectly.  We all stand together as brothers and sisters to offer any support that we can from physical labor, to donations and yes even in spirit.  Having said that let me now complete my obligation to the purpose of writing this.

Hurricane Sandy, like many other natural disasters are sometimes called “an act of God” for insurance purpose as well as to help many explain why it took place.  I find myself questioning that logic now more than ever because I have been exposed to a different point of view.  I awoke this morning with a burning desire to pen this article and I cannot honestly tell you why.  All I know is that when I get a calling such as this one, I am compelled to follow it. And so here we go.

When God first turned this world over to Adam and Eve, it was perfect.  Its abundance was here for all of us to share in and no one would need to go without anything they wished.  That was before man began to divide a land that did not belong to them and award certain rewards to those that suited their ideas.  We then morphed into robbing this world of its riches without replacing a single piece of it.  The only thing we returned to this world after raping it was that material that we did not want or need to fill our own coffers.  The refuge and garbage we bury into the earth contributes nothing good to it but this is but a slight annoyance brought on by those who know that we should be doing better.  Creating factories and plants that rob the air of its nurturing essences and then refusing to even consider this as an option for treating this world better.

It is easily assumable that the natural disasters plaguing this world now is the earth responding to our lack of respect of it and begging for us to finally pay it just little bit of attention.  Has the arrogance of man condemned us to a world that was asking for help but now demanding it?  Will we finally begin to treat this world half as well as it has been treating us for so long?  Are we smart enough to gather from her what we need to survive without damaging her beyond repair?  These questions may never be answered and may continue to be ignored but before we all leave this world you can count on all of us being saddled with that failure.  Pay back is coming and because we choose to bury our head in the sand or blame the status of this world on others, none of us will escape responsibility.  This you can be sure
