Humans Caused the Deaths in Oklahoma not the Tornado or Climate Change

My heart goes out to the families of all victims whether it’s in Boston, Texas or Oklahoma, but it’s particularly distressing when it involves the lives of children.  The massive media coverage of the tornado that touched down in Moore, Oklahoma keeps me glued to the screen and praying out loud, hearing about the heroic actions of those teachers who shielded those kids with their bodies and the quick response of the first responders, American Red Cross, FEMA, state and local agencies, and the millions of volunteers all over this country makes me proud to live in such a country that quickly forget our differences to come together as one family.  God must be so proud of us when we put others above ourselves and pity differences to the side for the common good.  Having said that and meaning every word, there is another truth that is being ignored and avoided which must also be spoken and since no one else seems to want to say it out loud, I will.

If what I am hearing is to be believed and is true, I stand strongly by the title of this article.  Human beings caused the deaths and not the tornado or global warming.  I say that because what I heard was that this and the other tornados followed very close to if not identical courses in 1999 and early 2000.  This being the case, why did it not occur to builders to either builds a more sound structure in “tornado alley” or moves the structures a few feet on either side.  Imagine any roadway which is often boarded by ditches on each side.  No one intentionally builds in the ditches so why place homes of inferior structure in the path of tornados?  If the path seems to be consistent, then building just outside of that area seems quite reasonable and smart to me.  Is it the love of money that keeps us from listening when God speaks or is it because we are so disconnected from God that we can’t hear a word he says?

In 1999, you can be sure many questions why God let this happened and instead of heeding that call, they mistakenly rebuilt on the same site and location.  When devastation struck again in the early 2000, again those voices of why rung out, still they re-built again without consideration of moving.  Today and for future days to come the same thing will happen again and one can only pray that this time we heed the lessons of the past.  No one says that those who have lived in Oklahoma should move to another state just a few feet, inches and yes even miles from the edges of “tornado alley”.  It is not a wise man that stands in the middle of the storm claiming to be invincible, it is a wise man that listens, understands and learns from the past so as not to repeat it.

Human error and refusal to learn caused these deaths because had they heeded the call and move maybe just a few more feet back from the edge, the lives lost would have been saved.  At one point we all have got to answer for each and every decision that we make and we all need to begin to embarrass that each and every decision we make will affect others whether directly or indirectly.  It was reported that a 45 minute warning was given by the sirens, local news outlets, the weather channel and local authorities but still lives were lost.  Human error or arrogance was the culprit behind the loss of lives suffered there and each adult who choose not to heed the call should now stand up, step up and take the responsibility for the decision that they made which them effected so many others.  Satan delivered the tornado but it was God who wrapped all those lost to us in this world and brought them home.  They are safe and secure now, never again to be affected by the lack of common sense displayed by so many who were supposed to be looking out for them.  They are truly home now and can rest as well as enjoy the unrestricted joy that only heaven can provide while those who remain need to wrap their heads around being left.

We often ask God for guidance and a sign yet when one is presented to us as plain as the nose on our face; we ignore it and therefore put ourselves back in the line of fire.  How many times are we going to be our own worst enemy before we realize that God goodness is always around us and stand ready to embarrass us when we listen to the call and allow it to happen?  You listen to all those who have no real clue about much of anything but the one that we should all be listening to often goes unheard.  Bad things happening is never a reflection of God, it’s always a clear reflection on us.
