The Obama Administration creating jobs without the help of Congress

When I first heard President Obama say that his administration would do all that they could to create jobs even if congress and Republicans would not help, I really did not know how he was going to be able to keep that promise.  I got the answer while watching the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC last night.

Apparently while Republicans and some Democrats are happy to let Americans continue to go unemployed, our bridges and roads to continue to disintegrate, and teachers and first responders to suffer, this administration does not.  Rachel Maddow reported on several police departments winning an award from the Justice Department which allows them to not only keep those first responders on the job but in many cases allowed some departments to even add officers.

Since these awards are coming from these individual agencies and their budgets have already been approved, Republicans and those few Democrats can not block these job creations.  It appears that this administration may also use this fashion to create even more jobs.  Every award that is won by individuals and companies can then be easily transformed into jobs like FEMA awards to companies with fresh ideas and inventions that can help make this nation safer for its citizens.  The Department of Education could begin granting awards to local construction companies to retro-fit the worst crumbling schools in the nation and the Transportation Department could do the same to repair roads and bridges.

Republicans and Democrats, who believe that they are justified at sacrificing this nation workers just to keep unemployment high and limit this president to one-term may have over estimated their power and under estimated this president’s resolve to do the right thing by those he was hired by.  It’s a shame really that this administration has to take these odds steps to do what they were hired to do while those who were hired to do the same thing are doing nothing.  Those who have nothing better to do than belittle this president will also reap the reward of his unorthodox manner of job creation and those sitting on the sidelines may also be rewarded because of voters who are unaware of what this administration is doing and their refusal to demand their resignation thirteen months from now.
