Huntsman dropping out of presidential race does GOP more harm than good

To some this may be a sign that the Republican Establishment has won and now the party will get behind one nominee but to me it creates a much larger question.

According to NBC’s Jo Ling Kent and Domenico Montanaro, “Jon Huntsman will drop his presidential bid and endorse Mitt Romney, according to campaign sources.”  This is taken from their article titled Huntsman to drop out of presidential race, endorse Romney and MSNBC’s First Read.  The questions began with the swift turn around it took from when Huntsman declared that it was on to South Carolina and getting the endorsement of The State.  The question continues over how at one time Huntsman can say that Romney is unelectable but now somehow Romney is qualified and gets Huntsman’s endorsement.  The questions crests with whether now Huntsman was the man many of us thought he was when we saw him as someone with integrity and a strong spine.  Regardless of how it may have appeared to some, Huntsman was the only real choice that the GOP had but maybe the Vice-President spot looks a little more inviting.

In this article a campaign source was quoted as saying that “He doesn't want to stand in the way of the person who is going to be the nominee."   This comment alone makes me wonder if it was ever his intention to serve and remnants of Sarah Palin comes to mind when she quit after the going got rough.
There were promises made by his campaign and one of those was fighter, this concession disappoints us all and leaves us now with two major parties determined to create a bigger divide instead of bringing us together.  This is the second campaign promising “Country First” that has let us down again.
