Wisconsin Wife proves Contraception Debate a Farce

As her husband lay dying on the floor of their Cessna plane, an 80 year old wife and mother takes the controls and with very little pilot training, safely lands the plane and gets her husband medical attention.  What other lesson need you learn to know the true strength and power women have at their disposal.

According to Christina Ng of Good Morning America, her article titled  Wisconsin Wife, 80, Lands Plane for Dying Pilot Husband” details a story that is one for the history books and one from which we can all draw strength and courage from.  In the article is reports that “a frail 80-year-old Wisconsin woman spent a harrowing 90 minutes learning how to handle a Cessna plane and then land it after her husband, who had been piloting the plane, collapsed while at the controls.  Helen Collins successfully landed the plane as it was running out of gas and an engine sputtering.  Helen Collins had called 911 to say that "her husband, the pilot of the aircraft, was having some sort of medical emergency and was unresponsive in the aircraft," according to a Door County Sheriff's Office report.  She was going to have to land the plane.  Collins said his mother had flown in the past, even flying solo, but she had never flown the two-engine Cessna and she had not piloted in about 30 years.”

Now I am sure you are asking yourself what this has to do with the contraception debate or the War on Women, to which I say.  The events mentioned above should be proof positive that women know best about what they need to do and how to get it done.  They do not need others to tell them what they can or should be doing with their bodies.  It appears that may want to leave the impression that only a group of male religious leaders, Catholic Bishops or lawmakers are smart enough to know what is in the best interest of women.  Helen Collins just demonstrated to all who wish to see, just how smart women are and how they can answer for themselves.  Just my opinion and I could be wrong.

  2. You are very welcome. My mother literally raised 10 children on her own and to be able to accomplish that proves to me that women know more about what they need than any man.
