Blind Benefits of Obamacare

Of all of the information out there about this healthcare debate, none put’s it more in prospective than and article written by Ricardo Alonso-Zaldivar of the Associated Press  article titled Undoing health law could have messy ripple effects.  In it he reports the benefits of Obamacare and just how popular it really is despite all of the reporting done by others to the opposite.  To give you an understanding of what these blind benefits are just listen to it as it is spelled out in the next paragraph and then take a listen to why I think all of this is nothing but a pure case of greed.

Mr. Alonso-Zaldivar reports that “even if the Supreme Court overturns President Barack Obama's health care law, employers can keep offering popular coverage for the young adult children of their workers.
But here's the catch: The parents' taxes would go up.  Better Medicare prescription benefits, currently saving hundreds of dollars for older people with high drug costs, would be suspended. Ditto for preventive care with no co-payments, now available to retirees and working families alike.  The law would prohibit insurance companies from denying coverage to people with existing health problems and provides subsidies to help uninsured middle-class households pay premiums and expands Medicaid to pick up more low-income people.  The coverage for young adults up to age 26 on a parent's health insurance is a popular provision that no one's arguing about. A report last week from the Commonwealth Fund estimated that 6.6 million young adults have taken advantage of the benefit, while a new Gallup survey showed the uninsured rate for people age 18-25 continues to decline, down to 23 percent from 28 percent when the law took effect.  If the entire law is overturned, seniors with high prescription costs in Medicare's "donut hole" coverage gap could lose annual discounts averaging about $600.”

Now as to why this is nothing but a pure case of greed, pay no further attention than to your next drug commercial especially at the end of it.  Many, if not all, will say that if you are having trouble getting or paying for this medicine, the drug maker may be able to help.    This is quite confusing to some because since these benefits so many why would these same drug makers is fighting so hard to have it overturned.  Simply because their feelings are hurt that government has to step in and make them do right by their customers.  Imagine how these options are available now but were not in the past.  I say that these same benefits, being enjoyed by so many, were available for drug makers but without any reason to do right, they made a conscientious effort not to divulge it.  They do it now because so many were attempting to go without their medication and it was affecting their bottom line.  Will these same fakers continue this trend if the healthcare law is overturned?  Yes, because it will affect their bottom line and that’s the bottom line.
