Quick and Easy way to compose a Business Proposal

For many people, like me, who have so many excellent ideas to not only improve existing products but solve some of this nation’s biggest problems, very few avenues, if any, are available.  Especially if you do not have access to capital or that earth-shattering credit score that many traditional lending institutions would drool over you for.

What’s left is the possibility that you will be able to find an angel investor or be able to enter a joint venture with someone who could provide you with the funding you need.  The main issue with that is now you have to prepare a proposal that get’s their attention and to get that you have to pay some company who promises to put together a plan that will deliver only to learn later that this same company prepares their proposal the same for you as they do for everyone else who can afford their services.

My solution, do it yourself and take your time with it.  Proof your proposal several times before finding a place to submit it and unless you can afford an attorney, do not submit it directly to companies.  Reason behind that is many of them will give you the same song and dance that they give everyone else and that is they do not accept any unsolicited material.  While there is no real reason to go into the placement of these headings it is vitally important that they are a part of your overall proposal.

Of course you need to include the name of your company and the companies’ overview.  The overview should be no more than 150 words, the shorter the better.  Include a short description also containing about 150 words and 250 words for market size and description.  Target customers should stay around 300 words while description of your management team around 200 words.  Next tell them about the competition keeping it under 250 words and the advantages you offer in 300 words or less.  Investors will need to know in what stage your idea/ product is in and the amount of money you are seeking as well as your plans for that money.  Give them a current valuation of your company and if you have been in operation, an idea of your annual revenue.

Prepare yourself for a long haul when it comes to making your dreams come true because, after all, it is your dream and no theirs.  If you really believe in your idea/product and is passionate about it, that will be felt in your proposal.  You may even surprise yourself about how much passion you have.  Dreaming is a good thing and the axis upon which this world revolves so let nothing or no one stop you from pressing forward.
