Clash of the Conservatives

I have been shaking my head a lot lately, wondering just how one party could claim to work for voters while making so many fatal mistakes when it came to political decisions.  Last night, it finally donned on me why.

Conservatives are clashing over what positions that their party should take and because they are not as organized as they want people to believe, their chosen representatives are being pulled in several directions at once.  Take for example Grover Norquist and his “No Tax Plan”.  Here this one person cracks the whip and get’s his GOP ducks in a row swearing never ever to raise taxes in any manner, shape or form.  The only problem with that is another group riding in wants a smaller government and the deficit fixed.  To believe that you can fix the deficit without increasing revenue is about as smart as spitting into the wind.  So the representative promises to fix the deficit, arrives in Washington and realizes that in order to do this revenues has to be raised but can’t because they also promised Mr. Norquist that they would not raise taxes and increasing revenue is considered raising taxes by Grover.

The only option the representative has now is to do anything to keep his/her seat so they seek other ways to appease those that they sold their souls to and there in lies not one jobs bill but a slew of abortion bills.  They all say that they love this country but refuse to take the actions to advance this nation forward.  It’s everyone else’s fault and even thought they wish to be treated like adults, they all act like children.  Compromise is not a bad thing but to a child, its play the game by my rules or I take my ball and go home.  Now we have a Republican presidential nominee who says that he is not sure what he said but whatever he did say, he stand behind it.  Wonder if he would have this same stance when addressing several different World Leaders on the same day, telling one one thing while telling another something else and not remembering what he said to either?
