For Obama it’s never enough

Listening to the expert pundits and journalists on cable news, it appears that the recent attacks by President Obama on what Mitt Romney has been allowed to say is being viewed as tainting the oath of office or staining the office.

Some say that the recent vitriol regarding Rev. Wright, Food Stamp President, not an American at heart, birthers, high school and college transcripts and so much more are Tea Party backed and a “dog whistle” to those who harbor a deep resentment of the first African-American president.  I say that if that is truly the case, then the same must be said by the media as well.  Simply put, the reason behind many speaking of the whistling is that those doing the whispering are doing so without regards to the facts.  It is also combined with distortion of what really is happening but what about the media and friends of the media.  Politicians distort the truth and many viewers rely on the media to ask the questions and demand clarity by confrontation when possible.  Media reserves the right to confront because they want to be able to interview those who may say these things so they “softball” interviews and let them walk away unchallenged.  So who do the viewers and voters have to depend on to get the truth.  It doesn’t seem to be from the media and friends.

I can remember when liberal media friends like Adam Green, Fire Dog Lake, Daily Kos and others were all up in arms over the president seemingly not fighting hard enough for policies that they felt he needed to push.  There were no room for compromise in their eyes and it was even threatened that if he and the Democrats in congress did not fight, they would find someone to challenge them in a primary or stay home during the 2010 elections.  Their threat was carried out and what we have right now is the direct result.  Nothing he did was enough and the harder he tried, the more they demanded.  Even today, Ed Schultz is still screaming that President Obama should travel to Wisconsin and get involved in this recall election, not taking in consideration that others may be advising him differently but Mr. Schultz’s rethoric makes this president seem scared or weak.  It isn’t really what you say but how you say it that has the greatest effect.

Now come the Tea Party, freshmen congress people and weak Republicans who were allowed access by those pushed to sit out the 2010 elections.  They push abortion and defunding Planned Parenthood instead of fulfilling their campaign promises of jobs.  They re-create history and make up lies about what has been happening in Washington while those from their party who are willing to compromise to make American stronger are being forced out.  They had nearly driven this country off the cliff and were the catalyst behind the lowering of our bond rating.  They do all this because no one has found the heart to stand up to them and remind them that they are only 25% which means that there are about 75% out there who really want country first.

Now come the media and their friends who are always trying to figure out what this president is going to do before he does it.  Each want to seem to have the inside track while every time they make a prediction, it turns out to be wrong.  Many was watching closely when the story of the Somali pirates was holding Americans hostages and not one thought that he would give the green light for the navy snipers to fire, he did.  He promised to lower taxes for 98% of Americans and many thought it was just a campaign promise, until it happened.  He promised to ignore all rules and get bin Laden and many was quite surprised when the announcement was made.  These are just a few of the things accomplished that gets very little if any coverage or used to confront those who distort his record.  Now come these attacks on Mitt Romney that the media and friends say taints the office.  If he failed to strike back himself, it was seen as him delegating this job because he wanted to stay above the fray.  He sounded as if he was too afraid to confront these people on his own.  Today, they know differently and now it seems him refusing to bow down to the lies is not enough.  Nothing this president does will ever appear good enough to show a strong leader who refuses lay down and let people walk all over him.  When George Bush saber rattled, media and their friends kept reminding us how strong he was but it is not the same measurement for this president, maybe because he doesn’t saber rattle.  Maybe because he just tells you what he’s going to do and do it.  Maybe because he refuses to hid behind others and allow them to do his fighting for him.  Maybe because when he is attacked personally or his record is being distorted, all others have tried to make media and their friends present the true picture and all of it has failed, he says enough, I’ll do it myself.  No one remembers, Joe Lieberman making comments during the 2008 election against Barack Obama on behalf of John McCain.  Media and their friends going crazy but none having the spine to challenge Lieberman, no one accept Barack Obama when he escorted Joe Lieberman to a quiet side of the Senate Chamber to have a little chat.  Don’t get it twisted, Barack Obama will not be intimidated and if he can not rely on anyone else to defend the truth, he will.
