Death of Osama bin Laden teaches that you really can walk and chew gum at the same time

America and much of the world celebrates the news of the demise of Osama bin Laden and yet there will still be many who may never trust the guy in the White House, it should be abundantly clear that he really can walk and chew gum at the same time.

According to the article by Kimberly Dozier and David Espo of the Associated Press titled US kills Osama bin Laden decade after 9/11 attacks, “By mid-February, intelligence from multiple sources was clear enough that Obama wanted to "pursue an aggressive course of action," a senior administration official said. Over the next two and a half months, the president led five meetings of the National Security Council focused solely on whether bin Laden was in that compound and, if so, how to get him, the official said.  Obama made a decision to launch the operation on Friday, shortly before flying to Alabama to inspect tornado damage, and aides set to work on the details.  The president spent part of his Sunday on the golf course, but cut his round short to return to the White House for a meeting where he and top national security aides reviewed final preparations for the raid.  Two hours later, Obama was told that bin Laden had been tentatively identified.”

Because any real leader know that to be a leader you must surround yourself with the best and the brightest as well as remain quite confident that the tasks you assign can be well handled by those to whom you assign it to.  Then and only then can you direct your focus to other situations and are not required concentrating solely on one thing.  To many this is called the ability to multi-task and to others it’s simply unheard of.  What will tomorrow and the days following bring?  Will al-Qaida just fold up their tents and go away?  I doubt it but one thing is for sure.  The lesson to all those wishing to cause harm to this country, its partners or their citizens will learn is no matter how long it takes, when this nation really want to get to you, it will.  Even former President George W. Bush  appreciated this and quite possibly said it better than even I could have when quoted as saying  "The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done,"
