Miami Heat surrenders Game three to Boston Celtics

After watching the first two games of this series, I often had to check myself to make sure that I was watching the same two teams yesterday.  Miami stepped on the floor and as soon after tipoff became a team of novice 1st year players mired in mud.  Their shot selection and even fear of taking the shot was so evident.  Chris Bosch was more a uniformed players running up and down the court with one-eye than he was relevant.  They played like they had been paid by the National Basketball Association (NBA) to lose the game in order for them to make bigger revenue on extending the series than a team looking to advance.

The article by Jimmy Golen of the Associated Press titled Rondo returns and helps Celtics beat Heat 97-81 puts it best “Miami led 46-44 at the half, but the Celtics scored nine of the first 10 points, capped by Rondo's first basket of the game, a driving layup with 3 minutes gone in the third that gave Boston a 53-47 lead. In all, the Celtics scored 16 of the first 20 points of the second half; James missed three of four free throws during the span, and the only other points came on a 3-pointer by Wade.   Dwayne Wade had 23 points and seven assists, and Joel Anthony continued to contribute off the bench, scoring 12 with 11 rebounds. Playing in the building where his Cleveland career came to an end, spurring his free agency defection to Miami, James scored 15 points as he and Wade combined to make just 14 of 35 shots from the floor.”  "We understand fully now how tough it is to take down a champion," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "All this fuel, the last three days that was going on I was cringing. Because you know this is a proud group, and you knew they would have a response."

Professionals are expected to go out and perform to the best of their ability and the paying public deserves nothing less.  Chris Bosch should have stayed home for what he added to the game yesterday, LeBron James seemed less confident about forcing fouls by taking the ball to the basket and Dewayne Wade was still having mental lapse of sticking with Ray Allen.  It seemed that the only person from the Heat Bench that came to play was Joel Anthony.  If it is well known that Boston was not going to just lie down, the intensity of Miami from the tip-off did not show that.  They have got to be willing to win and leave it out on the court every time they play even if the NBA feels that an extension of this series puts more money in their collective pockets.
