The Republican field for President in 2012 may have just gotten a little smaller

It seems to always be the case in political circles, that the higher your aspirations for political office the more careful you should be in demonizing another because as soon as you gather the slightest traction on that issue, something comes to light that you wish would have stayed buried.

This appears to be the case for Michelle Bachman and Tim Pawlenty.  While Bachman may have already been dismissed by some, Pawlenty may have been seen as a clear choice with no major questions to answer.  Not anymore according to the article by Michelle Goldberg for The Daily Beast titled Bachmann and Pawlenty's Ponzi Pal.  According to this article “Tim Pawlenty and Michele Bachmann sought pardons for a major campaign donor now accused of fleecing faith-based charities in a Ponzi scheme. The 2012 presidential hopefuls should answer for helping make Frank Vennes Jr. respectable, writes Michelle Goldberg.”  The article continues to chronicle this connection between these parties and totally makes why this is something that deserves answers when she reports that “Vennes was a major donor to both politicians, and both politicians sought pardons for him in order to wipe away the taint of the crimes that first landed him in prison.”

So when Ms. Bachman speaks about a “gangster government”, someone should ask her about her “wanta be gangster acquaintances”.  I guess the old adage really is true.  Never throw stones if you live in a glass house.  While Mr. Pawlenty has remained civil so far, it may be only a matter of time before he falls into line with the rest which would then be time for someone to seek answers from him.  We all know that no man or woman can be held responsible for the actions of another but if you are going to require a particular standard from one, you must also require that particular standard for all.  Anything less would be hypocritical and unworthy of your time.  Just my opinion and I could be wrong.
