54 year old serial killer faces sentencing tomorrow in UK

This is the poster child for the need for “capital punishment”.  Regardless of how you feel, to allow this man to sit around with no remorse while those who were harmed by his actions deal with constant nightmares are more than wrong.  The Independent’s Shenai Raif reports in his article titled Man facing life for canal murders that “detectives believe that at least three more women could have been killed by sadistic John Sweeney who was today convicted of murdering two former girlfriends.  Carpenter Sweeney cut up the bodies of Melissa Halstead and Paula Fields and threw the bits in canals in England and Holland.

This man showed no remorse for the damages that he caused.  There may be even more that have been damaged by this individual as reported in the above article which reads “he would boast of his woman-hating attacks in paintings and verse he wrote.  Some 300 paintings, wooden sculptures and poems were found at his home when he was arrested while on the run in 2001.  And similar works were found in his prison cell at Gartree Prison when he was arrested for murder last year.  Now police in both countries fear other former lovers met the same fate.” 

If an individual who caused harm or injury to another was having to deal with the nightmares then maybe fixing so they will never smell the sweet air of freedom again, would be enough for me but for someone who so blatantly does not will never truly learn anything except how lucky he is to be breathing while those he killed are not.
