American faces another Civil War except this one will not include uniforms or bullets

America is facing another Civil War but it’s not the exact same kind of civil war that was fought over slavery.  It’s the kind of civil war which will be fought with words, deeds, actions and at the ballot box.  The civil war that I am speaking of is this declining effort by a few to push this nation back to a time where equal rights were nothing more than just words.

I’m talking about a war over money being the catalyst behind every action by those elected to serve the public and not their own interest.  Where are those who claim to love this country so much when a city is changing its name just for a few dollars?  Joe Mandak of the Associated Press reports in his article titled Altoona, Pa., changes name to Spurlock movie title that “beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday, the city of Altoona will change its name to "POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold," after the latest film by sarcastic documentarian Morgan Spurlock.  The city is changing its name for 60 days to make some money — and to help Spurlock make a point about the proliferation of advertising in American life.”  I really do not have a problem with any city wanting to assist with making a greater point about the public’s refusal to recognize a problem but to do so for a fee only tells me that soon the need for money may just replace the need for responsibility.  Where are those who claim to love this country so?

According to The Daily Caller’s article titled Tea Partiers, conservatives to Obama: We want more now that you gave us the birth certificate“Accuracy in Media hopes to see the release of President Obama’s long form birth certificate as the initiation of continued transparency,” Accuracy in Media chairman Don Irvine said in an e-mail. “Questions still linger with respect to his academic records and even the most basic biographical data. I challenge the President to set an example for future leaders regarding personal disclosure issues.”  Future leaders, how about those leading right now.  Where is the call for their birth certificates and academic records?  I do not recall George Bush, Bill Clinton or any of those before him being asked to provide this information.  If memory serves, it was quite difficult getting them to release copies of their tax returns.  Not to mention all this fuss over Obama’s when it is not being asked from Romney, Pawlenty, Trump, Palin, Bachmann, Huckabee or Paul, just to name a few.  How about before you ask anything of anyone, ask it of yourself.    Where are those who claim to love this country so?  Is this really the tone we wish to set because if it is it will surely come back to bite you because there are those of us out here who will use this same tactic against you and those you support.  Make sure that this is the type of war you wish to promote because your opposition is as well equipped to fight in this manner as well.

According to another article from this same publication titled House GOP leaders knock Obama for releasing birth certificate, we must now believe that this was all Obama’s doing.  He released what was appropriate during the campaign but not good enough for the “Jim Crows” out there now according to this article quoting House Majority Leader Eric Cantor saying “I have criticized members of my own party for making this some kind of issue so I’m really surprised that the White House is actually doing the same.”  Are republican really this “brain-dead” or is it just those in power completely ignoring those who elected them to office?  I am sure that the birther crap was concocted by Obama because he had nothing else better to do with his time and the accomplishments of the last two years were just a cover so that we would not notice him stringing all of us along with this.  News Flash people, Republicans are not stupid and soon they will make all of you pay at the ballot box for treating them this way.  The war is on and already you can see the winning side beginning to grow tired of this childish treatment that they have been receiving for years.   The “real” Republicans are beginning to speak the truth about this entire incident as evidenced by an article by Jim Kuhnhenn of the Associated Press titled Analysis: Obama had no choice in 'birther' fight when he quoted Todd Harris, a Republican consultant who has worked on a number of GOP presidential campaigns, said some Republicans fanned the birthplace cause to get an easy headline and open up the wallets of some activists.  "It may have a short-term payoff for a handful of Republicans," he said. "But for the party as a whole, it is a terrible long-term issue to build a campaign around."

There’s a new civil war beginning and the place of battle will not be over the airwaves or on the radio, it will be at the ballot boxes of polling places all over this nation.  This just might explain why some of the minority has begun to try and cut off voter registrations in so many states.  This may have worked had they began doing it directly after the voting rights act was passed but since that didn’t happen, they will not be able to stop Americans from exercising their God-given and constitutional right to vote.  Those that decried that they wanted their country back picked this fight now get ready to rumble.
