Could Doral be seen as the end of the Tiger Woods era?

After reading this Doug Ferguson article for Associated Press titled Watney comes up big to win at Doral, I was left with one thought.  Could this be the end of the Woods era in golf?  I quickly came up wit an answer and the answer is “NO”.

Ferguson’s article focused on Nick Watney as it should because he did win the tournament with quite an array of world class golfer like Woods and Michelson but what brought me back to the initial question was something that Ferguson had in this article and especially something Woods said.  “Tiger Woods matched his best score of the year with a 6-under 66, and when Rory McIlroy dunked his tee shot into the water on the 18th hole and made bogey, that enabled Woods to tie for 10th.  It was his first top 10 in an official PGA Tour event in nine months, dating to the U.S. Open.”  "I want to win golf tournaments ... and I didn't do that this week," Woods said. "But I showed positive signs for the next time I play, which is a good thing."

Tiger Woods still has something to prove but mainly to him and not the gallery.  The Professional Golf Association (PGA) will allow him to play their tournaments as much as he wish because he is still a big draw but what Woods is looking for now is that light switch that comes on like it did in the past when he steps on the golf course.  His entire game has been dissected and copied by many but what sets Woods apart from all of the rest is there is an inner drive much unlike any other before him.  There is a fire there just waiting to be exposed and all he really need is just a little oxygen to get to it.

Now not being an expert or anything, I do not what activity will provide that oxygen, maybe it will be when he feels that his children are ready or a top 10 showing at a few more events but that day will come and when it does the golf world will be turned on its collective ear.  He was thought by many to be done but survived the new guns like Sergio and others.  He shall rise again but not to propel golf or support a cause.  He will rise only to prove to himself that events outside of golf shape you but they will never control you.
