Is the Michigan Governor Rick Snyder guilty of watching too much of “Demolition Man”

If the way Rachel Maddow detailed this story about the undisclosed parts of the Michigan budget is true, then I am reminded of the movie “Demolition Man” starring Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes and Sandra Bullock.  I am reminded of this movie because in the show after Stallone was thawed out, the city he came back too was owned and operated by Taco Bell.  If the same law enacted in one part the Michigan legislature and now heading to the latter part becomes law, the governor will have the power to take control of any city or town that he deems as in a financial crisis.  This hired gun will not only be able to move in and run that city or town but have the power to fire elected officials.

Does this not sound like a company operative from Dow Chemical being named as manager and moving into an area and rearranging it to suit his or her company.  As Rachel mentioned, instead of visiting Detroit on vacation, you would have to get your ticket to Dowville instead?  Why this has not made it into the mainstream media, only God knows.  What we need to do is demand that the entire bill be looked at before any legislation is passed.  This will definitely turn Main Street over to the control of Wall Street and with their recent victory in the Citizens United case at the hands of the Supreme Court where corporations have the same rights as any citizen; this is surely a path to a Corporate Takeover.

Many cried foul when there were those who spoke about a Government Takeover of healthcare and even believed that this was happening in the Auto Industry but I do not hear too many making noise about this new Corporate Takeover.    Also mentioned was the fact that Michigan Governor has even asked the elderly and poor to lose about 1.7 million dollars while he enacts business tax breaks worth about 1.8 million.  If the 1.7 is being taken from the less fortunate and is being done so to fill the gap in the budget, then why is it going to tax breaks?  Are we failing to really see the forest for the trees?
