Remaining cool, calm and collected is the essence of “No Drama Obama”

The entire truth behind this President was captured in the first sentence of a Glenn Thrush and Josh Gerstein article for Politico titled World events test 'No Drama Obama'.  It stated “A dizzying succession of major world events is bombarding a president who insists on controlling his own time, emotions and political message.”

This demeanor worries those who are still of the belief that you only show passion for a particular subject when you are ranting, raving and running around like a chicken with your head cut off.  These same believers can not understand how one could be so calm in the face of so much and in order to have it make sense to them and the sheep who closely follow them, they have to assume its about selfishness and lack of compassion.   What they refuse to remember or care to understand is the message that many responds to emergencies all the time tell those who are victims of those emergencies.  “Remain calm and think clearly.”

Many may not consider America a victim in all that’s going on around the world but I slightly do.  Not a victim whose helpless and deserving of a rescue but a victim because contrary to popular belief all the world’s economy is connected and what happens to one economy overseas does have an effect on ours.  This is even more prevalent when it is also the case that any decision will have short and long term consequences.  To lead one must be able to not only see the short term cause and effect but also be able to get some indication of what the long term causes and effects may be.  Which is why emergency personnel constantly warn victims to remain calm and think clearly.  We now have a president that chooses make this part of the way he governs.

For a president who knows that the way he acts may determine how the American people respond and knows that when he over-reacts, it could have a demonstrative effect on this nation, he chooses to do all of his pacing and ranting off-camera instead of on.  For those who think that this is a bad political move, then they have yet to realize that he is not all political and pragmatism to him means taking it one step at a time to make sure that all steps are covered.  After 8 years of saber-rattling and shooting first while asking questions later, is it not about time we stopped and smelled the roses?
