Extra Sensory Perception

We all have it but what sets some of us apart from the rest of humanity is the choice to listen to it or not.  Have you ever had the feeling that something was just not right but you couldn’t put your finger on it?  I’d call that Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) or sixth sense.  You find out later that you were right about something being wrong and either you continued after getting this sensation and landed in some trouble or you decided against completing the task and is most grateful that you did.

One of the biggest faults we have is the curiosity that comes with a possible discovery and that curiosity sometimes blinds us from electing to listen when our ESP kicks in.  My biggest problem with choosing to continue is that now many began the fruitless search for an excuse as to why they didn’t listen when their sixth sense warned them.  The knowledge of something being wrong before we commit to the act is often times punishable by law, but the thought that what we are about to do is not a good idea is not.  So in that vain, the only real person who suffers directly from the failure to listen when warned is normally the individual themselves.  There may be others who suffer indirectly but they are normally not known at the time the act is committed.

I believe it starts when we are two years old.  Watch a two year old and tell them not to do something.  They will stand there for a while before deciding to go ahead with it or not.  I believe that it’s their ESP warning them.  Now one can not say that a two year old deserves to be beaten about the neck and shoulders or hit in the throat with a hammer but it is a beginning.  As we grow, very few adults that we come in contact with particularly those who have more influence over us, may not inform and educate us on our talent to discern between this but they may continually tell us right from wrong.

Knowing right from wrong is different than ESP because knowing is the knowledge of while ESP deals mainly with the thought of.  I am sure that everyone’s life at one point or another, we all have said that we knew something wasn’t right.  What we need to do now is slow down and listen to the warnings that our mind gives us.  We often times listen to the warnings that our bodies give off which is why we are aware of when to visit the doctor.  It’s time that we began to listen to the most powerful part of the human anatomy, the mind.
