Taking back Egypt without firing a shot

We heard about a peaceful revolution when it came to Civil Rights in this country.  Those who participated in this revolution are seen as American heroes and pioneers of a new day.  They are now our guiding forces which continue to lead us in the generations to come.  This is now the story of Egypt.  A group of everyday people who probably would have never met came together for a common cause.

These people as those before them took to the streets unarmed and voiced as one their desire for a free country.  They did not crowd the streets for selfish gains but for the betterment of their country.  They knew that their country could do better and could be better but it would take a sacrifice far beyond any other and like the one that they read about in the American history books.  Though some paid the ultimate price, they would not let their deaths go in vain.  They stood strong and they stood tall only to re-gain a country that they knew existed but never saw realized for close to sixty (60) years.

The most remarkable part of this story is that all of this was done without those dreamers firing one shot.  They took down a dictator with rocks and stones.  They took down a dictator with nothing more than righteousness.  They restored their spirit and their pride.  A new day is dawning in Egypt and the future is totally theirs to shape.  It tells us more than anything else in the world, it tells us that you do not need weapons to secure change and take back a nation.  They are finally free, free to choose their representatives, free to earn a decent living and free to enjoy what they have fought so hard to achieve.
