Hanie the only bright spot in Bears loss to Packers

When the Bears took the field, you could tell something wasn’t quite right.  They acted as if this game was of no importance and just a regular season game.  The air became thicker when the Packers scored and watching the Bears offense coming off the field after three and out made me believe that the drive wasn’t there.

Jay Cutler never seemed to comfortable in the pocket and kept going back to throwing on his back foot which I had thought they had worked on.  After not getting much of anything going in the first half, I half expected the Bears to come out with a fresher game plan and wanted to see how they responded.  The response was just as weak as the first half.  When Cutler went down, I still felt like the Bears had a good chance to take back the game.   Even after Collins stepped in and did nothing much more than the quarterback he replaced.  He appeared extremely nervous and unsure of himself.

The only bright spot in this game was when Hanie stepped in on the tail end of the 3rd quarter and began to look like more than just a third string quarterback.  It was something about the way he came into the game and they way he barked orders to the 1st string starters.  I became more and more discouraged when those coordinating the offense kept running to the same side of the defense but refused to let Hanie roll out more.  It appeared to me that when he rolled out he was pretty effective.  He was most impressive when he was running the no-huddle and scored in about 87 seconds.  I became downright hostile to see them stop using the no huddle which really tired out the Packers defense.

I’ll never understand the actions of those running the show in the Bears camp but I am but a layman sitting on the sideline.  I just wish that sometimes those in charge would listen every now and again but maybe this will stay a dream.
