Solutions offered to the biggest issues with the Value-Added Tax

I believe that it is safe to say that all politicians in Washington wishes to reform the tax-code.  I believe it because many of those asked have said as much.  I’m skeptical because only during the “lame-duck” session did we see any form of parties working for the betterment of its nation.  Maybe this will be something that would fit the lame duck mold.

There are always oppositions to anything whether proposed by a democrat or a republican but In response to the objections expressed in a Mark Trumbull article for the Christian Science Monitor which was offered by Ronald Reagan in 1985 when he said that “a value-added tax (VAT) actually gives a government a chance to blindfold the people and grow in stature and size," "That tax can quietly be increased, and all the people know is that the price went up and they don't know whether the price went up because somebody got a raise or whether the company wanted to increase profits or whether it was government."  It appeared that this and many other options were addressed and solved.

The solution to it was to have the VAT replace income taxes for everyone except the higher wage earners but the primary solution to this tax being hidden by government is to include in the law that all consumers of this tax must be notified before there will be an increase and exactly how much it will be and its use.  If this is in the law, then it could not be raised without the knowledge and consent of the American public.

The current deductions allowed in the tax code should also be reviewed very carefully and one of the concerns raised was the curbing of companies moving jobs overseas.  The deduction for creating jobs here at home should be continued and even made permanent while any deductions that was given to businesses who dismissed American workers for overseas ones losses it.  There are plenty of good ideas to fix this issue from both sides but they will only be constructive if they are conducted honestly.
