The arrogance of the Miami Heat nearly cost them the game

While I am a big fan of LeBron James, I can still not accept sloppy play.  The game is a full four quarters and if players wish to cruse then they should make sure that they are thirty plus points ahead with less than two minutes left in the game.

On TNT tonight it was the first of two games featuring the Miami Heat against the Orlando magic in Orlando.  When the game started it looked as if both teams were still getting to the arena long after the game had started.  It was a rough going for all of them except LeBron.  I was quite happy to see him get hot and stay hot until he got his points before he started to really get the others involved.  The Magic was no joke tonight as well but they still had a hard time finding their three pointers and short range jumpers until after the first half.

Miami took the lead at the beginning of the game and never relinquished it.  This was something to watch until time winded down past the two minute mark in the fourth quarter.  Then it seemed like Miami put itself on cruise control and began to look very sloppy.  This is probably why they do not have the best record in the National Basketball Association (NBA).  With the big three on the floor at the same time, this team should be able to run away with most games.  I understand that it takes some time for a team recently put together to find that chemistry but this should not take too long with superstars.

The lack of attention allowed the Magic to put on a serious run and come within three points of tying the game with only a few seconds left.  The Heat did hold off Orlando and end the game with a 104 to 100 winning score but it should not be a win that any of them should be proud of.  They escaped but barely and if they believe that more focus will not be needed after the break and into the playoffs and even the championship, they are sadly mistaken.
