One of the factors that many of us seem to forget is the one factor that is often times over looked and is the most inconsistent part of not only the way we see things but the way we reaction to things. This factor is the “human factor” and when I say human, I mean human. We as individuals reaction based upon the knowledge that we have about any subject and since the bulk of that knowledge comes from our experience or what we have been taught at one point in our lives it is also gained from what we have been exposed to either directly or indirectly. Direct exposure tends to lend itself to something that we know and sometimes will not only base our existence around but flatly refuse to change or modify that stance for any reason. Indirect exposure is malleable and can be shaped by thoughts or opinion of others so it could be fluid and quickly changed or modified. Today, President Barack Obama launched his “My Brother’s Keeper Initiative” which is designed to bring together industry, faith-based organizations, religious groups and business owners to help create, fund and monitor programs which has been proven to help erase the enormous gap between young minority males and their white counterparts.  Some of those programs already have a proven track record and others are still in the experimental phase.  These programs would seek to open doors which has been closed and locked to minority males for years.  This was supposed to be a good thing but as luck would have it; to some it wasn’t seen as an opportunity to fix these long broken promises and times.  It was seen by some as another excuse to keep this nation as broken as it always been. At some point one would think that all the venting of ideas and speculation as to why the Obama Administration is taking certain actions, someone would stumble upon this one.   Regarding the Attorney General sitting down with journalist, off the record, many well-established, news bureaus say that they refuse to speak based on the off the record meeting with them because they want to be able to write about it.   Some are sitting down because they say it is important to hear what the Justice Department has to say and that this issue needs to be addressed and finished.   For me I say this. We learned today that Susan Rice has decided to withdraw her name from contention because she said it would bog down the confirmation process.   She spoke like a lady who see this as something bigger than her which is commendable but still gives “wayward” lawmakers an excuse to keep playing games instead of doing the job they were hired to do. Tell military members that their welfare is far less important than making up “talking points” to get on television or try to make a president look bad.   To say you love this country but fail to pass the jobs bill or hold up advancement of this nation for the billionaires makes no sense.   What has happened to a party who once champion military service?    What has happened to a party that once champions the worth of individuals over interest? If you have ever experienced when you hear something but are really not sure what you heard.   You tend to want to freeze the frame, rewind and play that entire scene again just to make sure you heard or didn’t hear what you thought you did.   That happened to me yesterday. I was watching Politics nations with Al Sharpton and he had invited radio host Heidi Harris on to talk about the Eduardo Saverin story.   Now for those of you who might not know, Mr. Saverin is reported to be an immigrant who was in danger when this country took him in and provided him with shelter and protection.   Mr. Saverin invested in Facebook and because it was now going to make him millions, he decided to relinquish his American citizenship making many believe that he was doing that to avoid paying taxes.   Some on the left are all up in arms because of this perception while some on the right are calling this man an American hero.   Both sides are missing the point, in my opi...

Reuters reports that shirts were on sale in Miami Florida during a protest calling for the capture of George Zimmerman.   In my humble opinion this action does nothing but disrespects the memory of Trayvon , undermines the work being done by his family and attorneys’, attempts to circumvent the FBI and all legal representatives who are truly working to make justice fair for all.   It is nothing more than an opportunity to stand on the grave of Trayvon to make money. Hypocrisy is the act of pointing out what others are doing as unjust or immoral while doing the very same thing yourself.   Selling those shirts and pushing this vigilante style law enforcement by offering a reward is asking some mentally questionable person to conduct him or herself identical to the way Mr. Zimmerman did.   His action caused a 17 year old to lose his life and supporting this idea of a bounty in any way could also result in the same end. Many of us have been wondering just how many Trayvon Martin stories are out there that very few know about.   One such story is the one that was posted in the Huffington Post titled Howard Morgan, Black Off-Duty Cop Shot 28 Times By White Chicago Officers, Faces Sentencing.   This story reports that “Howard Morgan, a former Chicago police officer who was shot 28 times by white officers -- and lived to tell his side of the story. Morgan was off-duty as a detective for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad when he was pulled over for driving the wrong way on a one-way street on Feb 21, 2005 , the Chicago Sun-Times reports.   According to police, Morgan opened fire with his service weapon when officers tried to arrest him, which caused them to shoot him 28 times. When will we learn that individuals who tend to try and help often times does more damage than good?   This is quite evident in the recent new stories beginning with Zimmerman’s father and now ending with this now misguided attempt by Zimmerman’s neighbor.   According to an article written by Dylan Stableford from The Cutline titled “ Zimmerman neighbor on robberies by ‘young black men’ before Trayvon shooting: ‘If you plant corn, you get corn’ , it is reported that “Zimmerman's Sanford, Fla., neighbor, said the neighborhood watchman protected his residence from a potential burglary several weeks before the shooting of Trayvon Martin.   Frank Taaffe, a former neighborhood watch captain, told CNN's "Starting Point" that his house was in the process of being robbed on Feb. 2, but Zimmerman called Sanford police, who thwarted the robbery.   "My house was being robbed, and George on his nightly rounds watched this burglary in progress, called Sanford P.D., ...

I was pleased to finally see that George Zimmerman and his Family was beginning to put together a defense team because this signals, for me, his inevitable arrest.   Now we will get a chance to hear all of the evidence, for and against, instead of being spoon-fed tidbits here and there from the media.   This reminds me of the O.J. Simpson Trial where what we were hearing from the media, formed our decisions of guilt or innocence only to now learn that some of us was correct in assuming that O.J. was innocent and covering for someone else.   Many of us had him guilty and still today would repeat the same.   Many are assuming that George Zimmerman really has no case of self-defense.   I personally, take the stand that Mr. Zimmerman will be found guilty of murder but before he goes down, he will take many in the Sanford Police Department with him.
