I was presented with this article titled “ How Jared Kushner built a luxury skyscraper using loans meant for job-starved areas By Shawn Boburg for the Washington Post which leaves me with two questions.  The first is why this was not discovered and reported during the campaign and the second is whether this is what even local politicians mean when they say that only they know how government works.  An extension of that question is whether this action has been happening right here in our city of Rockford and other places where federal dollars sent to cities to help with the high unemployment numbers or to benefit the lesser of us were re-routed to serve only those in power or people that they knew in power? Funny how when the bullets are flying, people seem to care so very much for the safety of the troops and act as if they truly do mean it when they say they support us but long after the bullets stop flying and the term of enlistment is over, the numbers of those who claimed to care before diminishes and those who said they support us then disappear and can never be found again at least or until there is another war that they will never have to serve in or during. People believe that stress is caused by an action but they are so very wrong.  It may be the cause of action when you are a civilian but as a member of any military stress can be caused simply by waking up every morning.  Think about this; while serving in the military you follow orders, orders that you have no idea who made them or who dreamed them up, you just follow them.  Each and every day you wear that uniform, you will feel a certain expectation that at any time some politician or some big wig could d...

As a member of the military, the last thing you wish to think about is how your government is mistreating you or ignoring the fact that by signing that enlistment contract, you made a promise to be willing to give up your life for this country and its way of life.  Sad to say that the toxic contamination of the drinking water on bases like Fort McClellan and Camp LeJeune may end up killing more veterans than any war, campaign or skirmish that they may have been involved in.  All because those we hired to carry out our desires in this government gets taken over by greed and the lack of a spine causing them to totally disregard our willingness to die so that could continue to survive and thrive. On November 13, 2008, I received a letter from the Commandant of the Marine Corps.  Now for those who might not know who that is or know that my prior life was served as a United States Marine from 1980 till 1991, the Commandant is the top executive in the Marines.  He is the guy who sets the policies, procedures and standards that all Marines must live by.  Getting that letter, made me first wonder why he was writing me and if the Marines had finally gotten around to issuing my overdue medals or was there another sinister meaning for this letter.  What I discovered after reading that letter would prove more devastating  than I could have known. The letter was actually from Major General E.G. Payne, Assistant Deputy Commandant, thanking me for taking part in a study  that was seeking to see if there was a link between individuals who had lived and worked at Camp LeJeune between 1957 and 1987 and the cancer causing toxins dumped in the drinking water. ...
