Look no further to see why Unemployment is so high in the Black Community

Many in the African-American community wishes to blame the fact that blacks have such a high unemployment number or they cannot secure a decent job at a decent pay because of closet racism but the truth of the matter is some who are blessed to secure a good job with a living wage presents those hiring managers and those in charge of these businesses the best excuse possible not to hire blacks.  This is all they need to deny blacks any opportunity that their experience, knowledge and skills level demands and it is proof positive that any decision you, as an individual make, will have an effect upon others. The article is titled “ 2 Bankers Charged with Creating A.T.M. Cards to Steal From Accounts ” written by Stephanie Clifford.  In it reports that “ The 15 JPMorgan Chase bank accounts had a few things in common: They had high balances, there was little activity on them and they belonged to elderly clients — indeed, at least eight were dead.  And all 15 of the account...

Pope Francis Brief Meeting with Kentucky’s Court Clerk is Proof of a Bigger Issue

Some people are visibly upset to learn that Pope Francis met with Kentucky’s Court Clerk Kim Davis and if what they wish to think that meant is what it really is then yes, they have a point.  Those appearing to be on the other side of the debate also have their own ideas what that meant and to hear them tell it, one could see even more clearly why those who listen to Pope Francis speak of all as God’s children and his admonition that we should treat others as we wish to be treated are upset but all this leads us to much ignored and bigger question.  To whom does opposition to Pope Francis meeting with anyone truly serves. According to an article titled “ Vatican Details Pope's Meeting With Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis ” written by Bill Chappell for NPR.org, it is reported that “ responding to a flood of interest in the surprise revelation that Pope Francis met with controversial county clerk Kim Davis, the Vatican says the event shouldn't be seen as an endorsement of all of D...

The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend-GOP working Hard to Damage Country

I consider it quite ironic that many of those who claim to love this country so much would do whatever may prove beneficial to them or their cause to achieve that goal at the expense of anything and anyone else.  Image in one breath saying how much you love your country and in the next, using language that gives those who don’t the ammunition they need to prove to their followers just how bad your country is.  And to top this off, those same mouthpieces has the audacity to say that their truth is not what anyone should be focused on, it should be their enemies’ faults. Take for example and article titled “ Giuliani in WSJ: 'I Didn't Intend To Question President Obama's Motives'  written by  Catherine Thompson in which she reports that  “former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) on Sunday took to the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal to try to clarify his comments about President Barack Obama's love for the country.  Giuliani told a conserva...

Practice of Greasing the Skids so Cops can stand above the Law Exposed

I and so many others tried to warn millions that there were more to the recent rash of cops acting as judge, jury and executioner than met the eye.  We attempted to educate you that there was more than that thin blue line that gave some cops the arrogance to see themselves as above the law and beyond questioning.  Well for those who doubted us, take a look at this article titled “ Outraged and Indicted Officers Declare War on Patrick Lynch ” written by Will Bredderman for the New York Observer and now say that what you were not warned about has any truth to it. The article mentions “a slate of insurgent Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association trustees and delegates—three of them under indictment for their involvement in the 2011 Bronx ticket-fixing scandal—announced their intention to unseat incumbent President Patrick Lynch and his reigning ticket of union officers.  Led by hulking Brooklyn South trustee and Lynch rival Brian Fusco, who is not in any legal trouble, the “...

What is all this about Al Sharpton?

While cruising the internet, I ran upon a post from the Lou Dobbs Show featuring Sheriff David Clarke, the black Milwaukee County Sheriff saying “Al Sharpton is a race hustler; he is a vulgar human being. He's divisive and he spews hatred. No prominent office holder in the United States and that includes the President, the Attorney General, and the Mayor of the city of New York should hold council, be associated with, or be in the company of Al Sharpton”.  He further mentioned that if New York Mayor wanted to resolve the tension between him and the police union he would have to distance himself from Al Sharpton”.  Now after hearing these two thoughts came to mind, the first being where were all of the voices calling him a racist.  Had this sheriff been white and said something like that, would not we see billions of calls for his head on a platter?  Or maybe because this guy is black, those who would be calling for his head wishes not to tainted with that label ...

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio this Weeks Media Scapegoat

Much is being made of the booing that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio received while giving a speech at the Department’s graduation but I think more investigative reporting is needed to truly understand why.  Not sure if it will ever happen with today’s media because we all know that only sex and controversy sells and nothing is more important than keeping opposing views at each other’s throats instead of the table to solve these problems.  Articles like the one titled “ De Blasio booed before vowing to protect police ” as written by Jane C. Timm proves that.  It reports that “Mayor Bill de Blasio was booed just moments before vowing to protect police officers at the New York Police Department graduation on Monday, two weeks after the execution-style killing of two NYPD officers.  “On this day that we want to focus on your great achievement. A day that so many of you have looked forward to — I’m sure it is a day you simultaneously feel some apprehension and your famil...

Baltimore Fox Affiliate Caught Attempting to Incite Violence

So much has been made about those players on Wall Street and how they should be held accountable for wrecking the economy and I stand with that.  There has been as much about cops committing murder and being given a free pass now should find themselves in court and I stand with that.  Few are talking about the coward who executed two New York Police Officers and how that is a result of the protests, considering their point I can understand it but what if their point was made by something that happened in this story.  It is a story about a particular news media that not only does not report in a professional manner but manipulate things to suit their fancy.  The article is called “ Protester Confronts Fox Station That Deceptively Edited 'Kill A Cop' Chant ” by Brendan James and in it he reports that “A Baltimore Fox affiliate apologized Monday night for a report it ran over the weekend that deceptively edited  protesters  to look like they were chanting...

The Serpent Residing in Cops Garden of Eden Reveals its Head

It is said that nothing done in secret stays secret and it is known that nothing done in the dark will always be brought into the light.  In the original Garden of Eden there was a serpent with enormous power and influence on the inhabitants.  This serpent fooled the residents into believing that they knew best about how they should live and behave but like that serpent in the original Garden of Eden, it finally over-stepped its bounds and exposed its head to have it lopped off by the true defenders.  This is the case and a clear lesson as to a major part of the root of this problem.  Many of us wondered how my fellow cops could have turned from defenders of the citizens and those unable to defend themselves; the deliverers of equality on the streets of all of our cities, the safe haven for all that seek shelter from any storm.  How they turned from ultimate sacrifices like that to a group of perfectly placed agitators of justice.  Well wonder no more. ...

The Benefit of being treated with Suspicion or like a Criminal

In the wake of the Trayvon Martin Trial, many are now beginning to take a good hard look at themselves.   Whether it is those of the Black Community, the White Community, Hispanic Community, Asian Community, Gay and Lesbian Community, Religious Right and Left Community or any other community which seeks to survive and thrive in these United States of America.   We look at ourselves in order to discovery if we have done as much as we can to erase all bias and prejudice.   Some have little work to do but the majority of us have a whole lot of work ahead of us. When we speak of racism, bias or prejudice, we need to know that it is not particular to one race or another and surprisingly it is directed at not only those outside of our own race but within just as well.   If we are to eradicate hate, it has got to happen not only toward those who are of a different skin color but those whose pigmentation resembles our own. Take for example, two prominent gentlemen ...

Hurricane Sandy-An Act of God or Arrogance of Man

Before we really get started here, first please allow me to offer my thoughts and prayers to those most affected by Hurricane Sandy whether directly or indirectly.   We all stand together as brothers and sisters to offer any support that we can from physical labor, to donations and yes even in spirit.   Having said that let me now complete my obligation to the purpose of writing this.   Hurricane Sandy, like many other natural disasters are sometimes called “an act of God” for insurance purpose as well as to help many explain why it took place.   I find myself questioning that logic now more than ever because I have been exposed to a different point of view.   I awoke this morning with a burning desire to pen this article and I cannot honestly tell you why.   All I know is that when I get a calling such as this one, I am compelled to follow it. And so here we go.   When God first turned this world over to Adam and Eve, it was perfect. ...

Peeling back the many layers of Donald Trump

When peeling back the layers of an onion, you have got to be very careful for fear that the adage is proven true that it will make you cry.   After doing a little bit more research on Donald John Trump, I began to get the same feeling about him.   Which one do we believe in or which one can we trust.   No one will be able to honestly begrudge the man his enormous success in business but to pledge my loyalty behind him present a different dilemma.   If he is as great as he makes himself sound and can do as well as he would have us all believe, then why are there still major questions about that which he feels most passionate about, Donald Trump? The first layer that needs to be addressed is the certainty of really which party he belongs to or what philosophy he will ascribe.   “Was   Donald Trump   toying with the idea of a presidential run as far back as 2009?   That's when   New York City Board of Elections   filings show The Donald sw...

9th set of human remains proves a serial killer or just a dumping field

Adam Reiss of CNN article titled Serial killer probe finds what could 9th set of human remains , makes me think that maybe these discoveries is less those of a serial killer and more of a dumping ground.   A dumping ground created by so many going missing without too much effort to find them expended by authorities or funeral directors looking to shave cost and increase profit. The article reported that “police are examining what appears to be a human skull found on the outskirts of a bird sanctuary in Long Island, New York, potentially the ninth set of remains discovered in the probe of a suspected serial killer.   Lt. Kevin Smith of the Nassau County Police Department said the skull was found Monday around 3:30 p.m. in the town of Oyster Bay. About four hours earlier, a New York state police officer and his cadaver dog spotted another set of remains about a mile and a half away, and authorities worked to determine whether those remains are human.”   "It's just been ver...

New York district attorney decision in welfare workers murder case over-reaching

While I am certainly for holding responsible those who are supposed to be responsible, there is something about this case that I must disagree with.   According to Jesse Solomon of CNN and his article titled New York child welfare workers charged in historic case , “t wo former child services case workers have been charged in the death of a 4-year-old girl they were supposed to be monitoring. It is the first indictment of child services employees in New York City's history.   Damon Adams and his former supervisor, Chereece Bell, who at the time of the child's death in September were with the city's Administration for Child Services, were charged Wednesday with criminally negligent homicide, official misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child in the death of Marchella Brett-Pierce, Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. Hynes said in a news release.” The article also reported that “the child's grandmother, Loretta Brett, also was charged. She faces counts of secon...

Is the New York City’s Bus fatality investigation losing its focus?

Associated Press’ Michael Gormley’s article titled NYC bus driver's trail before fatal crash probed only examined one aspect of the story about bus driver, Ophadell Williams and the bus crash that killed 15 people.   It is also the most minor of the questions yet to be answered. The article focused on “investigators are focusing on the driver, a man with a decades-old manslaughter conviction who was not supposed to be driving because he never resolved several traffic tickets.”   "We want to know what he ate, what he drank and how much he slept," NTSB vice chairman Christopher Hart said.”   While it is prudent to probe this question if for no other reason than to try and prevent something like this happening again, I wonder if it will take away from the ultimate question.   That question is what exactly happened and who, if anyone, should answer for it.   I worry about these things because we sometimes get in such a frenzy about the little things that we fail to...
