  Throughout the history of this nation, or any nation, there will be things that leaves us with a sense of pride and things that we would rather choose to hide but history itself teaches us that if becoming a more perfect union is what we truly desire, trying to hide or erase our bad actions of history is not and never will be the proper way to go. Ripping down Confederate statutes, changing the names of military bases which carried some of these general’s name, burning books or banning them, and of course rewriting history to suit a particular cause or belief are these ways of condemning the nation and all nations to eventually and constantly repeat these bad acts. The push to erase our history does not come from those seeking to make our world a more inviting and welcoming place, it’s sought by the kings, queens, and dictators who have been allowed to act as their ideas, beliefs, and desires are the only ones that matter. You say that you live in a free and just society but you lie.  This society is not free and it is definitely not just unless you count the numerous times when the rules favored you or an event happened to satisfy your need.  If you count those times then perhaps you may have a point but I ask you.  When the rules favored you or that event happened to satisfy your need, how then is society free and just if during those times those same rules or that same event was unjust or binding to another.  Unless you wish to redo your calculations of what free and just really mean but only to you and now say that this society is free and just whenever the rules favor you or an event happen to satisfy your need and to hell with everyone else.  Then perhaps you may have a point. Marco Rubio stated acknowledged Wednesday that American history was “marred by discrimination against gays and lesbians.” But in a speech at Catholic University in Washington, Rubio drew the line sharply at marriage equality and accused supporters of same sex unions of “intolerance.” “Rubio said. “This intolerance in the name of tolerance is hypocrisy. It’s not often that even I can clearly see how some in the judicial system can over-reach.   While I admit that ninety-seven (97%) percent of these over-reaches are full of good intentions, they still lack the consideration of those that they will affect.   A County prosecutor’s plan to jail parents who miss parent teacher’s conferences is more than just extreme, it is criminal in itself. “Under the law, parents are legally bound to their children until they reach 18 years of age.
