Mitt’s Motivation for Letting Detroit go Bankrupt

Many have asked the question of why a Presidential Nominee would ever think about not supporting the backbone of this nation, it’s middle class.   Not many have offered an answer to this dilemma that is until now.   Imagine being conditioned and educated that industry knows best of how to make a countryman rich and getting there by your own sweat and tears is not the most productive of ways to accomplish this feat.   We look back at the history of Mr. Willard Mitt Romney and we find a gentleman who has been blessed with the ability to lure people to his way of thinking from the time he took a bunch of fellow students with him to give one of their classmates a haircut to the time where he created a company designed to acquire, break up and sell off failing companies while making a pretty good profit for all those following his lead.   He had discovered a legal way to rob from the poor and give to the rich.   This aggressiveness made him one of the most ...

The Tale of Two Debates-Obama vs. Romney 1

Having not being able to view the Obama-Romney Debate live and in person, I subjected myself to hearing the recap from pundits, commentators and those experts who seem to have their finger on the pulse of the political events shaping our world.  According to them, I half expected to see Mitt Romney as an aggressive overseer, holding a whip and taming both Barack Obama and the moderator Jim Lehr.  The vision I had was Romney’s complete command from beginning to end and Obama just standing in a corner somewhere refusing to look in Romney’s direction in fear of being lashed for disobedience.  However after watching it in it’s entirety, the debate that I saw was completely different than the one I had heard about.  This made me begin to questioned if I had witnessed a completely different one. The one that I saw, showed me how gracious Obama really is toward someone he disagrees with.  It showed me that he could deliver a devastating and direct hit to his opponen...

Republican Party adds credence to the label “The Angry Black Man”

Since Mitt Romney won the Republican Party nomination for President, we have heard nothing but negative comments on the job being performed by Obama.  There were negative comments before but not as often as they have been lately.  Also present are the assist that the Romney campaign is receiving from outside groups and those who seem to have a burning desire to hate this president. The label “angry black man” is what was expected by those who view this president as less than they are but the more they attack him both professionally and personally, they can not seem to get him to react in that manner.  So many may now be wondering why I say that the GOP has given credence to this label, I ask you to consider this. Many from the minority groups have been demanded an equal playing field and claiming that they are always at a disadvantage.  Image doing and following every rule established to get ahead only after accomplishing them do you find that there have now bee...

My Favorite Moments of the DNC Convention

My favorite moments was less about speeches and more about, sometimes, missed actions by those who participated.  The little things that makes one heart sing and reinforce your belief in the goodness of people. One of these was the sincere look Michelle Obama had on her face when she spoke about how her husband sat and read those letters, committing and re-committing himself to doing whatever he could to ease their pain.  Another was hearing Joe Biden tell us how his first question was always “How will this effect the lives of everyday people.”  For a person to make this there first priority means that he surely seeks to answer to a much higher power than delegates and donors.  I was touched by Bill Clinton’s real reaction when he turned to see Barack coming toward him on the stage.  The bending at the waist was a real reaction and not a staged one.  The embrace that both man shared and the closing of their eyes to soak in the true meaning of their relat...

Anti-Obama Documentary sheds light not on Obama but on Makers

In a time when it appears that money is the primary and sometimes sole motivator behind movements we make, it is apparent that this may have been the only true reason for the new anti-Obama documentary as evidenced by The Huffington Post in an article titled 2016: Obama's America' Expands Into More Theaters Amid Accuracy Issues by Kia Makarechi.  I say this because it appears that it’s co-director, Dinesh D’Souza and it’s producer, Gerald Molen, have risked their reputation to present a movie that is supposed to be based on fact while showing severe indifference. The article chronicles the rise of the gross at the box office “this past weekend” as well as the expansion of it’s audience.  It states that “Molen defended the project as “fair and truthful” in a recent interview” but “the Associated Press fact-checked the film, which attempts to trace the roots of Obama's ideology. The newswire service found a number of errors or claims that are not made in good faith”.  Th...

Does Media Obsessions create Graven Images

I ask this question after seeing maximum coverage of Paul Ryan entire story because he might be chosen as Mitt Romney’s Vice Presidential pick. It got me to thinking of how the coverage from all forms of media from politics to pro athletes, from movie idols to music legends. How we elevate average people because of the job that they have, the amount of money that they control or the amount of influence they wield. They may be movie stars, jetsetters, important people and big business but if you took away all that they have in tangible assets, they would be just average people. They put on their pants the same way each and every person put on their pants, on leg at a time. So why do we chase them, worship them, fear them and hang on their every word? Many of us claim to be Christians and when it is convenient we use our faith to make our point, but we do not hold God in as high esteem as we do those average people. We know that this is one of the most horrendous sins, we can commit, ...

Rope-a-Doping Republicans

Is it just me or does it feel like this Republican Presidential Campaign is off key? One expected a fire in the belly of those who see nothing but the destruction of this nation. The coming together of a group of Americans, more American than all the rest, stepping up to save the world, one state at a time. Instead we got a group of radicals determined to make others bow to their every whim and destroy those who were not willing to bow and say "yesa masa’. We got a Republican Nominee who was us to choose him for the highest job in the land but refuse to take the steps necessary to get the job. He wants us to hire him based on what he says on any given day but not willing to allow us to look under the hood and kick the tires. Reminds me of a used car salesman who refuses to show us the "car fax". His surrogates step to the microphone and repeat whatever lie they were given to say without regards for their own integrity. Thought we wanted people with convictions in thos...

Class Warfare, Really

For as long as any of us could remember, there has always been a gap between those who fared well and those who didn’t.   Those who have, enjoy the pleasure that comes with being able to buy when and whatever they wish while those who haven’t could only dream of such expenditures.   What began as a spark to ignite those who were good in sports to get better or for those who dreamed of improvements to existing products was the drive to reach that level enjoyed by those who fared well.   With the growing divide and the selfishness and greed of those who have, this is becoming more and more difficult. The poor and the middle class had an avenue to getting up on their feet through homeownership but greed from those who have so much has managed to partially destroy that.   The poor and the middle class had an avenue to getting up on their feet by securing jobs with retirement savings but those who have so much has managed to almost destroy that.   The poor and m...

Exposed, the Story behind the Hatred of Obama

For quite some time now (around 3 and ½ years) I have been asking the same question.   Where does this intense hatred for Obama come from?   Yesterday, all the pieces fell into place and revealed a strange and disturbing picture. It became quite apparent to me that the major reason many stand against this President is simply because they figure he is weak and would not be able to exercise the power of the office.   They step to him not as an equal but as an inferior product.   To a person, it was believed that he was not smarter than they were and each time he demonstrate his mental capabilities they are shown to be one step behind.   This seems to be the primary reason for this intense hatred and can be evidenced by how many discount anything he says or does.   It makes them run to the nearest microphone to dismiss any achievement.   Take for example this article written by Rick Klein of ABC OTUS News titled Obama’s Immigration Surprise Puts GOP ...

BREAKING NEWS that no one is reporting on

Being a political junkie, I was surfing the cable news channels this morning and stopped at MSNBC Jansing & Company.   This segment featured former Republican Governor and Romney supporter John Sununu made news by not only justifying Romney’s comment about not needing more teachers and firefighters because the Wisconsin election told us so but made even bigger news when he admitted that businesses were sitting on over 1 trillion dollars because they were refusing to help this economy unless Romney won. I had hoped that others would have heard this and ran straight to Mr. Sununu and asked him if he meant that business leaders are purposely attempted to wreck this fragile economy for nothing other than political reasons.   I had hoped that professional journalist would be asking business leaders if this is true and if not why are they sitting on that much money and not lending to help create jobs.   They say because the demand is not there but if America has little...

The Romney Gingrich Love Affair

Media is missing a large piece of the puzzle as to why there now seems to be a love affair between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.   Many want to attribute it to a prime0time speaking spot but it is much simpler than that. The great meeting between Romney, Trump and Gingrich is nothing more than to get them on the same page.   It’s an opportunity for Gingrich to get help from Trump in nailing down the second spot on the ticket.   Yes, that’s right; Newt Gingrich is vying for Vice President.   Image the roar it would create.   Newt is quite strong in the South and Romney needs that.   Gingrich can sling the mud better than most and he can even be convincing when he does it.   Newt matches up with Joe Biden better than many because the knock on Biden is that he is a gaff machine but so is Newt.   Joe Biden can speak to so many subjects without missing a beat and so can Newt Gingrich.   The Vice Presidential Debate would draw millions for no...

For Obama it’s never enough

Listening to the expert pundits and journalists on cable news, it appears that the recent attacks by President Obama on what Mitt Romney has been allowed to say is being viewed as tainting the oath of office or staining the office.   Some say that the recent vitriol regarding Rev. Wright, Food Stamp President, not an American at heart, birthers, high school and college transcripts and so much more are Tea Party backed and a “dog whistle” to those who harbor a deep resentment of the first African-American president.   I say that if that is truly the case, then the same must be said by the media as well.   Simply put, the reason behind many speaking of the whistling is that those doing the whispering are doing so without regards to the facts.   It is also combined with distortion of what really is happening but what about the media and friends of the media.   Politicians distort the truth and many viewers rely on the media to ask the questions and demand clar...

Chicago Cubs owner plan a “death-nail” for Romney

"Joe Ricketts is prepared to spend significant resources in the 2012 election in both the presidential race and congressional races," Brian Baker, the super PAC's president, told the Times. "He is very concerned about the future direction of the country and plans to take a stand."   Remember this statement because if this continues to be any part of the line of attack against President Obama, he will defy Mitch McConnell and get his second term. This quote was taken from an article written by Dylan Stableford for Yahoo News titled Super PAC plans to attack Obama’s ties to Rev. Jeremiah Wright.   The article further reported that “a conservative super PAC is considering an advertising plan to attack President Obama's ties to Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright  Jr., his controversial former spiritual advisor, and "do what   John McCain would not let us do" during the 2008 presidential campaign.   Chicago Cubs billionaire owner Joe Ricketts commissioned the $...

What a “Sista Soulja” Moment would mean to Mitt Romney

Much has been made of the opportunities that Mitt Romney has had to create a Sista Soulja moment.   A moment where he takes a stand against those he believes are the ones who may cast a vote for him in the upcoming election.   Because there has been a few, one can only speculate as to the results of seeing Mr. Romney showing a little bit of backbone.   Below is what I think could be accomplished if he did take that elusive stand for doing the right thing. Because much of what Mr. Romney says is about non-divisive language, taking a stand could finally give him complete control over his party.   It could bring back the real Republicans who have gone into hiding or surrendered to the Tea Party.   He could finally bring Mormonism into the main stream, dispelling all of the lies and myths about his faith and give many a clear and correct look into a faith that frightens people mainly because they know nothing about it.   His stance could finally unite the have...

Mourdock defeat of Lugar in Indiana presents an opportunity for Democrats and Independents

Anyone who follows politics but may not be a fanatic should know Senator Dick Lugar and how he was never afraid to compromise for the betterment of this nation.   He had the letter “R” beside his name but he was not as divisive as all those who now have that title.   Talking about someone who stuck to his principals but could find way to move this nation forward without compromising those principals, there was none better than he. All this changed when Richard Mourdock plainly spelled out that his and those who backed him idea for bi-partisanship means Democrats coming to their view.   Image the entire Federal Government working toward voters’ depression, revoking women’s rights, dismantling the Department of Education and so many other scary ideas.   We will no longer have a government for and by the people but a government vying for the needs and wants of their largest money donors. The saving grace is that the Republican/Tea party may have really over ste...

GOP Embraces the “Etch-A-Sketch” Strategy

When Eric Fehrnstrom first mentioned Mitt Romney and the Etch-A-Sketch, many was surprised and thought it was nothing more than just a mistake.     It appears that it was more than a mistake and now is a GOP strategy. When Fehrnstrom first made the comment, even those running against Mitt Romney for the Republican Party nominee had some fun with it.   Late Night comedy and others could not believe their luck and some commentators still can not believe that these words came from his mouth but what’s more astonishing is how so many others are following this strategy. On Jansing & Co was Juleanna Glover who was labeled as a GOP Strategist.   She made it a point to insist that Mitt Romney was correct in his critics of President Obama concerning the blind Chinese Activist Chen Guangcheng.   Some thought the rush to judgment by Romney was typical for a “wanta-be” leader who seeks to try and find anyway to gain support from voters.   Others, like Ms. Glover,...

Roars from the Right and the Selective Left Abound Regarding the Death of bin Laden

Ever since this president was sworn in, there have been those who will stop at nothing but to oppose anything and everything that he says and does.   It is not so unexpected but it still is bewildering.   The newest media frenzy is over the anniversary of the death of Osama bin Laden and decenters are given a microphone and all the time they need on every channel to roar.   The sad part of it is, many of them may have more at stake than this media mass are interested in finding out. John McCain says that the Obama Re-election Team was wrong for politicizing the death of bin Laden but many refuse to remind people that John McCain ran on having the knowledge and expertise to find and “get” bin Laden.   So was that politicizing it then or does McCain get a mulligan?   Ed Gillespie repeated close to this take but I do not remember him stepping to the microphone and declaring it off-limits when George W. Bush and Dick Cheney was going around bragging about ke...

2010 Photos exposes lack of Leadership with all Parties

I was greatly affected by the story of the Los Angeles Times regarding the 2010 photo of soldiers posing with the remains as referenced in the article written by Cheryl Pellerin of the American Forces Press Service titled Panetta Rejects Conduct Shown in 2010 Troop Photos.   The graphic nature of the photos was appalling to see but the real bane of my irritation was the complete disregard that these soldiers showed for the loss of life and the position that their action was putting those still serving in.   According to the article previously mentioned, the poster was “a soldier with the 82nd Airborne’s 4th Brigade Combat Team from Fort Bragg, N.C., anonymously provided 18 photographs because he believed they represented a breakdown in leadership and discipline that compromised troop safety.”   Knowing that, releasing them to the Los Angeles Times or leaving them where they could be used by anyone could also is “a breakdown in leadership that compromised troop saf...

Indiana Governor proclaims Obama chances of winning his state slim to none

Nothing much surprises me this election cycle considering no one on the Republican side except for a few is willing to see this economy get better even if it meant a second term for Barack Obama but hearing Mitch Daniels, Republican Indiana Governor say that Obama has a slim to none chance of winning his state did cause me to do a double-take. Mr. Daniels was a guest of Chris Wallace on Fox News, Sunday, when he was asked if President Obama would win Indiana as he did before.   Governor Daniels justified his statement by saying that “Obama’s job sinking policies would not be forgotten by Hoosiers and they would not reward him with a win.”   When Mr. Wallace asked if the governor believed that Mitt Romney had the state sewed up, Daniels replied that basically “Romney would have to work for it.”   That was quite a confusing interview but Mr. Wallace did little to clear it up.   What confused me was the thought if Indiana would not reward Obama with a win ...

Coverage of GOP New War Room exposes Hypocrisy

Jake Tapper of ABC News reported on the new GOP’s war room on his show Political Punch and ended up exposing not only those manning this room but the Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus as hypocrites.   According to Mr. Tapper, “Political Punch got an exclusive look inside the committee's anti-Obama attack machine, and the space they call "the war room."   “That means having transcripts of all President Obama's speeches at the ready, and responding immediately any time there is a gaffe by a the president, vice president, or a Democratic operative.”   Mr. Priebus was quick to point out that their purpose was to hold the president responsible for the promises that he made.   Therein lays the hypocrisy because Mr. Tapper also asked if the war room was closely watching everything said by those in their own party but the question of holding them to the promises that they make was not addressed.   I often times wonder why asking for an ...
