Quantity over Quality is proving to be really bad business

We all must recall Henry Ford’s idea about making automobiles.  It centered around making them affordable for the masses and making them able to withstand the test of time.  Henry Ford was more concerned about the quality of a Ford than the number of Fords on the road.  He also believed that looking out for the workers who were the primary reason his vehicles were quality was also the true mark of success.  Today Ford Motor Company is still one of the top three automotive manufactures but today’s Ford is nothing close to keeping the vision of Henry Ford. We all must recall, the Dodge Brothers who left the Ford Company and embarked upon creating a top brand of automobile all their own.  They kept the love of employees that was learned from Henry Ford and they kept the quality of making fine automobiles.  Today Dodge and it’s merger with Chrysler now Jeep and Fiat is also one of the top three automotive manufactures but like Ford, the love of quality has...

Escalation of Troops Numbers into Iraq Brings Back Memories of Vietnam

Was watching the Rachel Maddow Show last night on MSNBC and she had a segment on how what is happening now as far as the first call for military  advisers  in Iraq was around 200 just before President Obama announced that he was sending 300 more to provide embassy protection and airport security only yesterday to announce another 200.  Pentagon Spokesperson said that this was going to be a short mission but those who know or have studied the history of the Vietnam War, showed eerie similarities between that and this. They are similar since I was Dwight D. Eisenhower who first sent in a small number of military  advisers  into Vietnam because he did not want to send a larger group of troops.  Word is that later, John F. Kennedy inherited that mission and even though beefed up the number of  advisers  in Vietnam would have probably never increased them past that point.  The Maddow piece further explained that after Kennedy d...

Mitt Romney’s stance on the Auto Industry Bailout may just have lost him MI, OH and PA in general election

For those who were so vocal when it came to bailing out the Auto Industry but were not so when it came to bailing out Wall Street, the results of your decision is in and you lose.   If you go back into the archives of tape, you will find many prominent leaders decrying the Auto Industry bailout and lately you have heard Mitt Romney singing the same tune.   Those union workers and all those who support them were very happy to see that the few did not influence the many and they got their bailout.   The largest difference between the banks and the auto industry is that while the banks are still looking to lay off more workers, cut more expenses and grow their profit margins, the auto industry is doing the exact opposite.   GM and its workers dedicated materials and manpower to re-equip those firefighters who lost their vehicles during the attack of 911.   The union took a severe pay-cuts and a slash in benefits so that this and their company would survive. ...

The Auto Industry leads the way but will other bailed out companies follow?

It never ceases to amaze me just how blind some pretend to be and even though the proof is overwhelming still resides to deny that the sky is blue.   Many campaigned on the push of the Obama Administration to bail out the auto industry.   Some even promised doom and despair as the result of this action.   Now that the auto industry is making a serious comeback and according to Tom Krisher of the Associated Press GM, Ford and Chrysler are preparing to pay their workers a big bonus, these same people are complaining that "Since the taxpayers helped these companies out of bankruptcy, the taxpayers should be repaid before bonuses go out," Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, said in a statement. "It sends a message that those in charge take shareholders, in this case the taxpayers, for a sucker." Is it just me or are there some to whom what is actually going on at Main Street does not seem to appear on the radar of those in Washington.   How can giving workers a bonus be any...
