One of the factors that many of us seem to forget is the one factor that is often times over looked and is the most inconsistent part of not only the way we see things but the way we reaction to things. This factor is the “human factor” and when I say human, I mean human. We as individuals reaction based upon the knowledge that we have about any subject and since the bulk of that knowledge comes from our experience or what we have been taught at one point in our lives it is also gained from what we have been exposed to either directly or indirectly. Direct exposure tends to lend itself to something that we know and sometimes will not only base our existence around but flatly refuse to change or modify that stance for any reason. Indirect exposure is malleable and can be shaped by thoughts or opinion of others so it could be fluid and quickly changed or modified. The Grand Ole Party voters are throwing a temper tantrum right now and Donald J. Trump is the recipient of the fall out.  Why are they throwing a temper tantrum?  There are several reasons for it, some are good and some are not so good but those are not what worry me.  It’s not the reason; it’s the results that frighten me. When the Tea Party was going strong and Democrats decided to stay home, the GOP glided into offices all over the states and in Washington taunting destruction from within.  Many thought that surely they would not do that and if they tried, the senior members of the GOP would stop them in their tracks and educate them on how this is supposed to truly work.  Many thought the senior members would corral these gunslingers and show them that no one gets everything that they want but by compromising, you can get a lot of what you want.  They were wrong and when it came time for those more extreme candidates to seek re-election the GOP vot...

I don’t care how many times I brooch this subject, it still surprises me that so many of us in the black community have yet to wake up and truly smell the coffee.  There are many things that Black America should be proud of and find pride in like the millions of blacks that greatly contributed to the building of this nation but instead of helping to push the positive stories so that our children have more to look forward to than a rap career or on some athletic field, we continue to do nothing about making our rich history a much bigger part of the over-all American History. In a nation which claims to be a Christian Nation, one would expect the primary text which guided that nation and act as the number one source for the actions and behaviors of that nation would be the Bible.  For a nation that claims to be a union of co-existing and cooperating souls with each pursuing his own goal of life, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness while maintaining respect and dignity of the other, one would think that the one main source for the actions and behaviors of that nation would be the U.S. Constitution.  For a nation that seems to be claiming both attempting to serve two masters at the same time, it can get kind of confusing which primary guide to follow for each situation we find ourselves in and that is what may explain why this nation appears to be quickly becoming the less desirable and ignored nation on the planet. If you have ever wondered if Fox News was truly “fair and balanced” then this will be the test for you.  If you have ever wondered if MSNBC was biased or if CNN was just following everyone else then pay close attention to this little bit of news.  We learned yesterday about this “no Child Left Behind” bill signed into law by George W. Bush which gave the federal government more control over underachieving schools by taking that power away from the states.  We didn’t hear much fuss about it when it happen, since so many who claim GOP affiliation always seems to claim over reach by the federal government and has co-oped the saying of “smaller government”.  Well since the worst president ever, according to some has now reversed their representative’s action and gave back the power over their schools, what will they say now? Far be it for me to deny anyone their right to speak their minds, that was one of the many freedoms that I and others like me were willing to lay down our lives to protect but even I cannot continue to try and ignore ignorance to such a degree that it makes anyone with any reasonable perception have to read it twice. When I first heard this story on The Rachel Maddow Show, I was immediately concerned that something just wasn’t right.  Based on the story, it was assumed that Missouri State Auditor Tom Schweich’s “suicide” came at the hands of the Missouri GOP chairman John Hancock’s false assertion that he was Jewish and the “suicide” death of his aide, Robert Jackson was a result of the many other prominent Republicans did not demand Mr. Hancock’s dismissal.  It is being seen as the results of the new GOP’s brand of politics.  I just can’t see that. As a beloved follower of some political shows on MSNBC, I was both a little confused and sadden when I read about the comment made by MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell while being a guest on Meet the Press.  I was confused because here was an elite media member who has always in the past compared where we came from to where we are today in order to draw a contrast and possibly find solutions to our problems.  I was saddened by the fact that she sat on television and began to attempt an education on what words or language should be used while in the office of president.  Saddened that she, of all people, should know that before any person or country can ever move forward, that they must first be well aware of how they got to where they are and from whence they came.  If memory serves, she, herself, has said that you will never know where you are going unless you know where you came from. While cruising the internet, I ran upon a post from the Lou Dobbs Show featuring Sheriff David Clarke, the black Milwaukee County Sheriff saying “Al Sharpton is a race hustler; he is a vulgar human being. He's divisive and he spews hatred. No prominent office holder in the United States and that includes the President, the Attorney General, and the Mayor of the city of New York should hold council, be associated with, or be in the company of Al Sharpton”.  He further mentioned that if New York Mayor wanted to resolve the tension between him and the police union he would have to distance himself from Al Sharpton”.  Now after hearing these two thoughts came to mind, the first being where were all of the voices calling him a racist.  Had this sheriff been white and said something like that, would not we see billions of calls for his head on a platter?  Or maybe because this guy is black, those who would be calling for his head wishes not to tainted with that label ...

American made history with the nominations and confirmation of the first enlisted man given the highest job in our military.  The nomination and eventually confirmation of Chuck Hagel did more for moral within the enlisted ranks than ever but this was never noted or reported on because media seeks confrontation instead of collaboration. Now this media is all up in arms about Mr. Hagel’s resignation.  In an effort to find some point of confrontation, top media elites like Mark Murray of NBC wishes America to know that his resignation is all about the White House having no confidence in his leadership.  They speak of having this resignation coming at the wrong time and how it will be seen as disruptive to the many functions that our military is involved in right now.  Even after Chris Jansing, White House Correspondence for NBC news attempted to clear that line of thinking by reminding all that this post for Hagel was within the agreed upon 2 year hitch.  Med...

Heard a story about this new bill working its way through Congress called “The Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for America Veterans Act” on the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC.  This bill calls for independent evaluations of all mental health-care and suicide-prevention programs in VA and the Defense Department, a student loan repayment program that would offer up to $120,000 per year to recruit psychiatrists who commit to working for VA, and a program that would take back unneeded prescription drugs from patients at VA facilities.  Now while all this may sound good and is needed much of it is actually worthless in solving the problem of veteran suicide.  Clay Hunt’s mother said that after he finally got in to see a  psychiatric , he called her and said that he was not going back, the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA)  and other veterans groups believe to solve this problem VA needs more psychiatrist.  Both completely ignoring the fact that mor...

Depending on which channel you are watching will often determine which side of the issue of inaction in Washington you take but to me, the best position to sit in order to see the entire forest is right smack dab in the middle. Sitting here, I can see the wonderful things this President has accomplished while in office as well as a few things I still have a hard time figuring out why he made the choice he did.  There are a tremendous amount of things he has done that I can honestly agree with and will defend to no end but there are also things that he has done which I do not agree with and would need much more convincing to defend.  This is the advantage I have by keeping myself in the middle. There are stories like this happening all over this nation but why it is not breaking news or any television stations lead in is quite evident.  We call ourselves a nation of Christians but we act as though we are a slave to Satan and cannot resist him.  Breaking news is always news that shows us as callous, selfish, arrogant and righteous but we are all but one of those and that is righteous.  Our local and national news are often about the bad things happening in this country so no wonder people think that is all we do, so who wishes to step up and take responsibility for their actions, simply put no one.  Those in charge will say that if they do not have viewership then the ratings will drop off and they will have to close their business.  What they forget is the amount of true love and righteousness that exist within our society and would propel any business to the top if these were the stories that gets the attention.  Business and mostly everyone has...

Not much surprises me these days but nothing makes me shake my head more than those whose job is to inform finding hit and miss messages to spread thinking that only controversy sells.  Much like advertisers think that a good product will never reach millions of consumers unless it is attached to barely clothed women or some handsome hunk without a shirt.  Contrary to Wall Street wisdom, sex does not sell, it only directs the mind toward sex and demises the product you are trying to sell but that’s just a layman’s view and apparently it doesn't count. Take for example the recent uproar presented to us by Ed Mazza of the Huffington Post who found it important to waste ink and print room on “President Obama Criticized for 'Latte Salute' While Stepping off Marine One”.  Personally I can think of a billions things that could have occupied this space and our time better than this but then I am not the one who chooses what is plastered on the pages of so-called news magazines....

The true definition of leadership, selfishness, bravery and courage has been demonstrated by many people but is mostly seen in war movies were the one lone hero is shown jumping on a grenade to save his fellow service members.  I guess that is one act we will not see coming from this congress. Being a political junkie, I tend to surf the channels and stop at different cable news shows to see what they are talking about.  Contrary to much of what I write, I do often times stop by Fox News but not as often as I stop by MSNBC.  Yesterday, I stopped by “All in with Chris Hayes” just in time to see an interview that he was doing with Ms. Jennifer Stefano a reported employee of American for Prosperity.  In this interview, it was supposed to be a peep into what reasons this group is so dead-set against people finally getting insurance and Obamacare.  What it turned out to be was two people puffed with pride that no real answers were ever learned.
