The Sudden Concern about a Democracy in Decay

In this year, 2022, so many Americans are screaming about the clear and present danger facing our democracy as well as those whose current position within this society lending credibility to this claim but as it has been for so long, there is still a lingering element within this society that do not carry the fear of this decay.   They are those who are much more aware of the history of this nation and its system of unequal justice.   History of this action of attempting to hold those truly responsible for seditious acts to account, are welcomed by those who have been emboldened to exercise this perceived right or privledge because they hold the victory over it’s coming. This idea that certain laws does not apply to certain people found its beginning when the Constitutional Convention got together in May of 1787 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and did something on September 17, 1787, that not only guaranteed that this democracy would eventually decay but fired the start...

Has the Electoral Commission/College become obsolete?

To a person, I am sure that you will hear that this nation was founded on the principal of inclusion.  Where people of many different cultures, races and religions could come and be welcomed.  It was founded on the idea that it didn’t matter where you came from or who your family was, the only thing that mattered is your willingness to work hard for what you receive and your acceptance of the rules and regulations set down by those elected to represent the nation’s people as a whole.  These ideas seem now to be lost after the Clinton versus Trump presidential election.  It appears that now it is time to revisit a subject that many feel has been resolved long ago but as history really does have a tendency to do, it has repeated itself yet again. The major thought of citizens having a voice in who they wish to lead them has always been a cornerstone of thought but given very little consideration until recent events has now placed this thought front and center....

Why the Gun Control Debate sounds and feels so wrong

Don’t know how many others feel but I grow so very tired of hearing about how this gun control debate is damaging others ability to bear arms.  It’s the number one reason so many feel as though there are two sides to this debate and those on the other side are so focused on being right that they too do not realize that each is arguing the same thing but in different varieties.  It’s sad and so very unnecessary but leaves it to humans to take things far out of proportion and find an enemy in everything we may disagree on.  We are so busy looking for someone to hate that we are willing to take a non-opposing view and turn it into one of the most ignorant and idiotic fights we have yet to witness.  I ask now that those from either side of this gun control debate take a few seconds and consider my argument thoroughly then decide if this foolish pursuit is worth continuing or not then I ask that each of us step back and closely examine why we made that particular decisio...

The one main thing that the Bible and the Constitution have in common

In a nation which claims to be a Christian Nation, one would expect the primary text which guided that nation and act as the number one source for the actions and behaviors of that nation would be the Bible.  For a nation that claims to be a union of co-existing and cooperating souls with each pursuing his own goal of life, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness while maintaining respect and dignity of the other, one would think that the one main source for the actions and behaviors of that nation would be the U.S. Constitution.  For a nation that seems to be claiming both attempting to serve two masters at the same time, it can get kind of confusing which primary guide to follow for each situation we find ourselves in and that is what may explain why this nation appears to be quickly becoming the less desirable and ignored nation on the planet. Now it is quite clear that the Bible is being greatly ignored when you have Christians pushing hatred for another group ...

The only Problem with Goals

We hear people telling us all of the time that the one thing we need to establish within our lives are goals.  Levels within our lives that we would like to achieve in order that we feel satisfied with life at the end of our term or successful.  We call it a legacy or something that we can look back upon in our golden years to show that the many days we existed here upon this earth was indeed fruitful and not a waste.  We tell ourselves this in order to feel better about the times we fail to act or fail at fulfill.  Now while I must admit, goals are a good thing to have, I do agree that goals are for the reasons previously stated.  My own personal take on a goal is that it can measure your seriousness about accomplishing the mission you have assigned to yourself and not some idea that others have saddled you with but like all things there is always a good and a bad. The only bad thing that I can come up with when it comes to setting goals is not that some a...
