What we have not learn from past wars and remain continually ignorant of

Americans pride themselves on comparison of their intelligence level and many even join special societies to promote just how intelligent they are.  Others use grades from academic institutions to measure their level of intelligence and still others use their knowledge of how certain things work or how well they perform their chosen tasks as proof of their superiority over another.  All this and yet still we prove each and every day just how unintelligent we are and how insane our motives to prove one better than the other really is. We have all heard the old saying that the true sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, the exact same way but expecting a different result.  This act alone shows us for what we really are.  A bunch of insane fools who keep searching for that elusive longing in the exact same area we have been searching for it for decades now and still not finding it.  We keep looking for that answer to the same question bu...

Racism like Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

I have struggled to try and understand this elusive and temperamental word called “racism” for quite some time and just when I thought I had a handle on it, something else would happen to destroy just about every point I used to connect with that understanding.  Every point except one which is why I strongly believe now that racism is not a condition, disease, result or reasoning.  I now believe that racism is an excuse, convenient for some while inconvenient for others, but an excuse none the less.  An excuse to dismiss or define actions or non-actions of others so that the person doing the defining can wrap their minds around the conversation and move on to yet another subject, issue or matter.  I finally reached this conclusion from the below mentioned article just discovered. The article I refer to is titled “ Texas Teacher Says She’s ‘Sick’ of Black People ‘Causing Trouble,’ Called for State-Sponsored Segregation ” written by Goldie Taylor for Blue Nation R...

Biker cries foul Waco shooting and lawyer seeing no way out

We are all entitled to our day in court and have the right to present our case as to why we are not guilty of what we are charged with but to begin so early to attempt to discredit those who oppose you leaves me to wonder why.  Could it be because you know that they have the facts on their side and the results of a verdict from any kind of jury would lead to you being found guilty or is it because privileges have been extended to you that others can only dream about? The article is called “ Lawsuit alleges Waco biker grand jury conflict of interest ” written by Emily Schmall for the Associated Press and it reports that “ a biker arrested after a deadly shootout involving bikers and police in Waco, Texas, argued Friday that it's a conflict of interest for a policeman to preside over the grand jury that may hear his case.  Matthew Clendennen, who sued after he was one of 177 bikers arrested following the shootout, alleged in a court filing that James Head's presence as fore...

Protesters and Politicians prove that they know as little about being a Christian as the Extremist knows about being a Muslims

In an article titled “Texas rally by Muslims seeking tolerance disrupted by protesters” written by Jon Herskovitz for Reuters, it is reported that “ Protesters hold signs and yell to disrupt and heckle a group gathered for a Texas Muslim Capitol Day rally, Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, in Austin, Texas. Hundreds of Muslims gathered for the rally as part of their biennial Texas Capitol lobbying day. Hundreds of Muslims gathered for the rally as part of their biennial Texas… A rally at the Texas Capitol on Thursday by Muslims seeking religious tolerance was repeatedly disrupted by a small group of protesters who said the state belonged to followers of Jesus Christ and that Muslims should go back to the Middle East.  During opening remarks at the Texas Muslim Capitol Day event, a Christian activist from Michigan grabbed the microphone from the speaker and said: "I proclaim the name of the Lord Jesus Christ over the capitol of Texas. I stand against Islam."  A group of people who des...

Texas man old work truck in the hands of ISIL Final Piece of the Puzzle

Not many ordinary Americans can say that they were the key to finally  bringing  down ISIL but a Texas man may just be the key that authorities have been looking for  to finally dismantle the group.  Much is known about ISIL but still more could be learned.  It was always rumored that their financing came from several cloaked and dagger institution and individuals but this slight oversight by those who have terrorized many may just be that loose thread. In an article titled ” Texas Plumber Isn't Sure How Extremists In Syria Ended Up With His Work Truck ” by Ryan Grenoble for The Huffington Post, it is reported that “a Texas plumber says he has no idea how his company's work truck ended up in the hands of Islamic extremists in Syria. The truck, a black Ford F-250 with the logo for Texas City's Mark-1 Plumbing emblazoned on the door, appeared in a tweet posted Monday by the Ansar al-Deen Front, a jihadist group operating near Aleppo. In the photo, a man ...

Ebola Infections Proves Hospital lack of Leadership and nothing more.

Throughout the years since the creation of this nation, America has learned by trial and error.  It is something that many of us today without even thinking about it and unless we begin to make changes to this, we shall continue to learn that way.  What I mean is simple, it took a severe case of polio to infect those on this shore and many died before we created a cure and learned how to deal with it.  This is the same case here dealing with Ebola.  America felt no need to prepare for Ebola when it was first discovered because it was not happening here so we ignored it and underestimated it until that day in Dallas when Mr. Duncan came to visit and make marriage plans with his fiancée.   The Texas Hospital had no earthly idea what it was dealing with and only after the CDC entered the picture did they began to get a real clue of what they had.  Mr. Duncan died a hero because the things that they did wrong in his case will be the guidelines used to...

Thomas Duncan, the first known to develop Ebola in the United States, died a hero

If you are listening to those who see Thomas Duncan’s death as an assault against African-Americans, I see it as something much differently.  I see it as a most unfortunate incident but also an opportunity to help this nation prepare to fight the most deadly virus that we have ever faced. The article titled “ Officials watch and wait after first US Ebola death ” by Everett Rosenfeld and Associated Press reported “Hours after the first patient to be diagnosed with Ebola in the U.S. died of the disease, health officials moved to ease public worries and protect Americans by instituting increased screenings for airline passengers arriving from West Africa.  Beginning at JFK airport on Saturday, and moving to four other airports next week, authorities will be questioning these travelers about potential Ebola contact and taking their temperatures, Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said in a Wednesday media conference.” Based on tha...

Immigration Debate exposes real American Hypocrisy

For those who find themselves entangled in this on-going debate about our immigration problem, there appears to be one thing that many are missing.  That is how hypocritical this nation looks as those who wish to yell “go home” and deny anyone a safe haven are the very same who appears to be singing a different tune when it comes to war. Example is look very closely at those who say that America and this administration is lacking in its response to the fighting going on in the Middle East right now.  They cite the excessive loss of life as a reason for us to step up and step in yet these very same people are singing a different tune when it comes to the growing number of illegal aliens being captured and detained at the southern border of Texas.  Is there really a different or does it depends strictly upon the person who is screaming the loudest? Can we really have it both ways?  Be gung-ho to charge into a civil war but turn a blind eye to refugees who are ...

Could Other Prison Officials be linked to the Tom Clements Murder?

Tonight, the Rachel Maddow Show updated the story she reported regarding the shooting death of Tom Clements.  Tom Clements was a high level official with the Colorado Department of Corrections.  He was shot to death when he answered the front door of his home.  I also tracked down this article written by Jennifer Brown for The Denver Post titled “ Widow of Tom Clements angry and frustrated by murder investigation .  In this article she further reported the following; “Cl ements and the couple's daughters know who pulled the trigger but do not know who else, if anyone was behind the plot. And she believes there were others involved, that Evan Ebel, a recently paroled prisoner who spent much of his time in solitary confinement, did not act alone.  "It's very difficult for me to believe that he planned and orchestrated and financed this act himself," she said. El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa, whose agency is leading the investigation, told The Denver P...

What’s the Matter with the People from Texas?

Yesterday I was quite dismayed to learn that one of our largest states within this United States of America has reduced the number of abortion clinics from 44 to less than 20.  I found that disturbing because I was wondering who or what entered the minds and heads of those in charge to believe that they had the power to dictate the actions of others  minus rules and laws designed to prevent the loss of life.  I wondered where in the heck was the mother, sisters, daughters, aunts and grandmothers who sit idly by and watched this happened.  I wondered where were the “real” men who stood by and allowed another person to take away the rights of his wife, mother, daughter, aunt or grandmother.  I wondered this because unless I am sadly mistaken, if you take all of the rich folks and placed them on one side of the road, then take all of the rest of us and placed us on the other side, the rich would never have as much voice, power or influence as we would. I remai...

The Voting Rights Saga-Re-establishing the Southern Strategy

Many people are all up in arms about the recent Supreme Court decision to gut a portion of the Voting Rights Act and the long-awaited voting rights laws that’s affecting many Republican-controlled states and municipalities, but what they seem to be missing is the real reason why. Some say it is to stop a certain type of voter from voting in the up-coming elections, some say it is to give the GOP a better chance of controlling all aspects of government both local, state and national but there are those who say that it is to fight voter fraud.   Regardless of which you choose to believe and you are free in this country to believe whatever you desire, one thing is extremely true and undisputable. It is the new adaptation of the “southern strategy”, one where the “closet Klan members” and “fake Christians” rule as they did in the time of Jesus where only the laws of Moses were important to those religious and righteous leaders.   Where a simple man born to a carpenter co...

Aide claims Undisputed Snap Challenge Champion after one week discounting those with nothing else

Now this is quite rich, an aide tried the Snap Challenge and failed but still deems himself the Snap Challenge Champion after one week, why this is so rich is because he discounts all those who have been surviving on Snap for years.   Take a look at the article written by Igor Volsky for Think Progress titled “Aide to Republican Congressman Fails to Live on Food Stamps for a Week” “An aide to Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) failed the so-called “SNAP Challenge” last week, just days after accusing Democrats of “intentionally buying overpriced food and shopping at high-priced chains.” The aide, Donny Ferguson, accepted the challenge in response to dozens of Democrats who lived off the program for a week to draw attention to the inadequacy of the average benefit of $4.50 per day. In a press release issued by Stockman’s office, Ferguson initially bragged that he “was able to buy enough food to eat well for a week on just $27.58, almost four dollars less than the $31.50 “SNAP Cha...

Neo-Cons to the Right of Me and Peaceniks to the Left of Me. Where do you stand?

Ever since George W. Bush had his grand opening and dedication of his new Library in Texas, the Neo-Cons have been out in full force trying to find another war where they can trick America into engaging a foreign enemy and a war that no one of them will ever physically participate in.  Reminds me of a bully or manipulator, like Satan, who gets others to fight their battles for them, risking not one hair on their balding scalps.  It’s like not allowing any kind of conflict to go without a war attached to it.  Then you have the Peaceniks who also are using the revision of the Iraq War found on full spectacle in the George W. Bush Library allowing them to make their point that we all should be making “love not war”.  That if we just stick our heads in the sand and pretend that we are all alone here in this universe; the universe would leave us alone.  In the words of Jesus Christ, both are fools and hypocrites.  So where do you stand?  Are you s...

Texas Judge Discipline of daughter is proof of parents going over-board

You-tube video of a father and mother disciplining their 16 year old daughter has created a firestorm about child abuse.   Texas Judge William Adams and wife Hallie was shown using a belt to whip daughter Hillary because she was caught downloading music from the internet.   To Hillary the punishment did not fit the crime and according to wife Hallie, she was forced to participate.   While I am a strong supporter of this form of discipline, I am saddened that these parents took it way too far.   I have always advocated that before any parent begins this form of punishment, they need to first remain calm, explain the reason for the punishment and then proceed following the rules as they have set down.   No offense is worthy of striking a child more than 3 times and in most cases once.   What this demonstrates to me is the lack of control by both parents. The Aransas County Court-at-Law Judge appears to have been influenced by anger instead of resolve...
