There is not much that can get my dandruff up more than seeing an official abuse their authority or say one thing while doing another.  You see this a lot in politicians, promising one thing on the campaign trail but seemingly to quickly forget their first few hours in office but they are not as closely related to the community as a whole than those elected to sit on our benches in our courts.  Most Americans see this place as the only place left on earth where they can get a fair shake and the impartiality of those wearing that robe would listen, hear and understand their plight, provide them with a sense of belonging and even help where ever they could.  Today’s justice is not benched with judges such as these but people with their own agenda, their own bias and an overwhelming mixture of self-importance.  This can clearly be seen in the case reported by an article titled “ Florida judge berates domestic abuse victim, sentences sobbing woman to jail ” by Melissa C...

There is often no more clearer of an example of good intentions turning out to be worse than intended or expected than this article.  The sad part is the true result will probably never be felt by those who made the decision nor seemed to be accounted for by those who did. ROCKFORD – 23-year-old Lorenzo Kent Jr. was found guilty of first degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Donmarquis Jackson in Jackson’s driveway of his home in the 1400 block of Nelson Boulevard last May.  Along with some witnesses saying that they overheard Kent threatening to kill Jackson, it was also reported that a major part of the evidence used to convict Kent was a Facebook posting which read something like “My way or the highway, killed in the driveway” posted on Kent’s page after the shooting.  Kent now faces 20 years to life for the choice that he made when he decided to take the actions that he did and because he choose to put it all out on Facebook. There were only a few careers that were viewed as more prestigious and dignified than any other careers known to man.  One of them was the job of being a lawyer but that was then and this is now.  It appears that now this industry is slowly but surely being demoted from a status of pride to just a job.  A child used to dream of the day when they would become a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman or fireman.  Some still look forward to obtain a degree in medicine, pinning that badge upon their chests or grabbing that ax and charging into a burning building but few mention the one top job on that list.  What appears to have happened to this once ethical and righteous job is that care to maintain its status has been ignored for years and those who were placed with the task of keeping it precious are either long gone or have been corrupted into believing its purpose is something different.  Back in the days of Matlock and Perry Mason, we saw a person with the lo...

Now I know that I can not be the only one asking this question but it appears that I am the only one addressing it.   One has got to wonder when this all changed from a society where those who can, help those you can’t into a world where those in a position to help dwell so deep within their own selves that they refuse to extend and share their knowledge and expertise to anyone or anything unless it can be done for a price.   I cast this light upon our justice system and those entities associated with it whose primary task would be to help control or eliminate desires to cause harm or injury to ourselves or our fellow man. As many of you may already know, my nephew is the victim of this trend.   He is a young 15 year old with a very bright future ahead of him but quite a troubling past behind him.   Back in the past entities and families used to band together in order to help these lost souls find their way.   Each having their place and their assigned task...
