There are hundreds of people who rail against what they call “the welfare state” that we are in.  Many prominent players have been quoted as calling some “the takers” and others “the givers” and some have settled with the labels and titles of “the haves and the have nots” but all are really saying the same thing.  They divide this nation into section probably because it is easier for their minds to wrap around if this very large pie was divided into sections instead of seeing the entire forest.  The sad part is that many of whom gravitate to these labels or titles are typically not those who live within them.  The takers are not those who call themselves takers because to them they do not take but to a giver who gives but never receives, they may just seem like it.  It’s pitiful that we need these divisions in order to even pretend to deal with each other as human beings but until we get to the point where each of us look at the other as a real true human bein...

For reform seekers, sometimes our best argument for reform gets lost and forgotten within the selfish need of others to make a point.  Just in case you have no idea what I am talking about, I would like for you to consider two different cases, each has its own merit screaming for reform but both enjoying the “loose lips” of those who attempt to define the struggle for change clearly blocking the one true argument for it. The first case comes to us from writer Jackson Marciana writing for Counter Current News in an article titled “ Woman Accidentally Shot and Killed By Cop While Trying To Hug Him ”.  In this article he writes “Adaisha Miller was celebrating the weekend before she turned 25 when she was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer.  Miller had been dancing with the Detroit officer, and upon coming in for a hug, his improper method of carrying his firearm resulted in its accidental discharge.  Adaisha’s mother, Yolanda McNair said that all of this...

Residents and leaders of Ferguson, Missouri as well as many well-respected journalist are off on a path pushing and beginning to start a recall for their city council.  The argument is that with 68% of residents being African-American and the city council not is representative of that means change is coming.  It is a very good idea but there is also something that they may need to consider. I call your attention to the City of Detroit who sends quite a few African-Americans to the city council and it changed nothing.  The situation became worse and now the city is bankrupted.  Putting African-American in office does not solve the problem if those elected are not strong enough to fall into the same selfish hole that those who currently occupy that position now finds themselves in.  If you elect a person who pretends to care when it is only their intention to better themselves, then you are electing to keep your city buried under the same blanket. One of the most interesting and a questionable thing that has happened in the new lately has been this article reported by the Inquisitr.com titled “Detroit Water Fight: Activists Ask United Nations to Declare Service a Basic Human Right”.  In it they report that “nearly half of Detroit water customers cannot pay their bills, so they are turning to the United Nations for help. Activists on the Detroit People’s Water Board are now lobbying the UN to declare access to water service a basic human right to ensure that those who can’t or merely don’t pay their water bills continue access to the flowing liquid when they turn on their faucets.  The average Detroit water bill is $75 per month. According to a Free Press report, the average monthly water bill in other areas of the country is approximately $40 per month.  Detroit water and sewer rates have reportedly doubled in the past 10 years.
