As her husband lay dying on the floor of their Cessna plane, an 80 year old wife and mother takes the controls and with very little pilot training, safely lands the plane and gets her husband medical attention. According to Christina Ng of Good Morning America, her article titled “ Wisconsin Wife, 80, Lands Plane for Dying Pilot Husband” details a story that is one for the history books and one from which we can all draw strength and courage from. In the article is reports that “a frail 80-year-old Wisconsin woman spent a harrowing 90 minutes learning how to handle a Cessna plane and then land it after her husband, who had been piloting the plane, collapsed while at the controls.
