There is no such thing as “white privilege”.

If you listen to all those who say that “white privilege” exists be sure to ask them how they arrived at such a conclusion.  You may find that their arrival is strictly based upon those who are not held to the same identical account for the same crimes are disproportionally white.  Now while this satisfies those who wish to keep us so concentrated on race that we over look an obvious primary factor it is not the truth and it is time someone attempted to open the eyes or those who wish to learn.  If you ask those who think “white privilege” does not exist, you may find that the only reason they say it does not is to lessen the fact that many who are not held to equal justice are white and they do not have a better argument but they are too false in their assumptions simply because our eyes don’t lie and the story fills the headlines of our paper and news every day.  Again what both these groups of single minded individual miss is the unseen and ignored damage that is...

State Agency tasked with protecting Children fails again at keeping them safe

Talk to any Child Protective Service employee and they will without a doubt proclaim that they are the true protector of America’s children.  They are allowed to proceed into your home based on a single unanimous phone call, snatch your children from the only home that they have ever known, rip up the only security blanket a growing child has and tear apart a family because they are the experts in child development and even though many cases are unfounded or the evidence found would not honestly convict a fly, they remain vigilant in their pursuit of their rights versus all others.  The courts refuse to administer equal justice simply based on the position and title of those representing these agencies and any defense against their sometimes wild and outlandish accusations is the defense you must provide for yourself because those provided by the courts are merely pawns and normally have little to no backbone when it comes to proper and accurate presentation of your side of t...

Man found dead in car could think of nothing but avoiding his next false arrest

I received this article from my wife titled “ Wrongly Convicted NC Man Found Dead in Car ” written by Breanna Edwards posted yesterday March 14, 2016 and in it she details “ Darryl Hunt, who spent 19 years in prison for a murder he did not commit, was found dead in a car in Winston-Salem, N.C., early Sunday, the Charlotte Observer reports. Officers got a call about a person believed to be dead in a car near the Wake Forest University campus, where they found Hunt unresponsive.  In 1984 at age 19, Hunt was charged with the rape and murder of a newspaper copy editor. Hunt was exonerated in February 2004 after DNA evidence led police to Willard Brown, who later confessed to the murder. Hunt was exonerated and pardoned by then-North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley and was also awarded a settlement of more than $1.6 million in 2007. Hunt then went on to found the Darryl Hunt Project for Freedom and Justice, which is an advocacy group for those wrongfully convicted.   As the Observe...

Civil Suit over Barmore shooting death prove that you cannot serve two Masters

You can get no more evident that how we currently live today is to pleasing to God than to have a church file a lawsuit against the city of Rockford, IL when the Bible clearly tells us that Christians do not sue another.  Now maybe some will say that the city of Rockford is not a Christian because it is not a person then we can say the same about the church, can we not?  Some may say that the children who was present during that shooting has been scarred for life and deserve some sort of compensation for their duress, pain and suffering but I say if you are attempting or had been attempting to teach these children the true word of God at this daycare then why not show them the ultimate lesson that Jesus shared with us, turn the other cheek. The title of the article is “ Trial nears in Rockford civil suit over Mark Anthony Barmore shooting death ” and it reports that “ a trial in a lawsuit stemming from the officer-involved shooting death of Mark Anthony Barmore could begi...

The Most Ignored Reason our Justice System is failing

There is a very soft rumor of many now truly beginning to take a serious look at our adult and juvenile justice system.  Some are just now discovering that which those unable to get past a particular point of poverty have known for years.  Both the adult and juvenile justice system sucks and does not work half as well as it should for all Americans.  They see where those with enormous resources can get their voices truly heard in court and considered long before the verdict but when it comes to those who are not privileged with the funds to purchase the assistance of the best attorney in town, their voices are quickly silenced and often never heard at all. For those just now paying attention, their focus is on the length of sentences or if the judgment set down by the courts really does fit the crime.   Their focus is on whether you can get more time selling crack than you get selling high end cocaine or heroin.   No mention of how those providing...

NFL Domestic Violence Policy, a Three Sided Coin

Many news agencies are applauding the new stance that NFL (National Football League) Commissioner Roger Goodell has taken on domestic abuse by members of this organization and while I can clearly see why, there are still two other sides of this coin that seems to be lost in the conversation. In his article titled “N.F.L. Domestic Violence Policy Toughened in Wake of Ray Rice Case”, Ken Belson wrote “In a rare mea culpa, N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell said Thursday that he had mishandled the Ray Rice case, in which the Baltimore Ravens running back was suspended for two games after being accused of assaulting his fiancée.”  “My disciplinary decision led the public to question our sincerity, our commitment and whether we understood the toll that domestic violence inflicts on so many families,” Goodell said in a letter to team owners. “I take responsibility both for the decision and for ensuring that our actions in the future properly reflect our values. I  didn't  g...

Discovery of PTSD proves us the Key to Reducing Crime

Just another thank you that this nation owes our veterans.  Think back, there was not so much focus on post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) until it became a front page issue regarding the trials and tribulations of our returning veterans.  Those acting unbecoming on the battle field as well as committing murders and suicide when they came back home.  Since that time, America became aware of something that has probably been the driving force behind crimes being committed but never addressed.  Thanks to our veterans, now we know even more about PTSD than we ever had before and now maybe we can get to addressing this disorder and finally really taking a bite out of crime. It was believed, at first, that PTSD only extended to combat veterans but since the staff at Mayo Clinic redefined this disorder to “a mental condition which occurs and brought on by a terrifying event”, we now know and can clearly see that the key to reducing crime could be as simple as educat...

The Escalation of Addressing Violence against Women gives Rise to Another Issue

Many of us can recall the day when a man was allowed to beat his wife and nothing would ever happen to him.   We are also aware that many Christian men still follow the “a woman’s place in society is to be subject to her husband” philosophy which means so many things the least of which “women should be seen and not heard”.   Some still find themselves struggling with this concept which may explain why so many men feel that it is their place to tell women what she can and can not do with their bodies but to the majority of men, we all know that this is not and should not be the case today.   We know that women carry the bulk of the burden when it comes to the effects and affects of this world.   We know that they have a mind and should have a voice in the decisions made.   We know that they have just as much right to pick and choose their destinies as men do.   We know this and now it’s time for us to not only stand up for them but stand up for ourselves as...

Are the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Guilty of Kidnapping with an Assist from the Winnebago Sheriff’s Department?

Late August 2011, my mother was informed by her granddaughter, whom shall remain anonymous and does not reside with her, was reporting being abused at her home.   Now this family, being so tight-knit, was quite surprised at this news.   We automatically began to check out her story to find out if any of it was true.   We soon learned that the incident did not happen but we did learn that there were a few issues we as a family needed to address.   We learned to better spot a call for help by our children and we educated ourselves on what we could do to help them through this phase.   To some, this information would have broken the family but to us, it only served to make us stronger.   That was until the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) got involved.   Early September, my mother received a phone call from an individual saying that she was the supervisor of one of the investigative specialist assigned to this case.   At fi...

The Slow Erosion of Average Citizen’s Level of Protection

We all should be familiar with the phrase “judicial activism” by now since it has been used several times in recent memory to determine if any judge should be allowed a seat on any bench by those in political offices who are tasked with that decision.   I submit, that this has now become an epidemic not because it is necessary but because in order for those without to get justice they deserve, the “go-to” governmental offices established to protect the average individual’s rights no longer do so. Case in point is the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).   As an individual, I had filed a complaint regarding a prominent radio-talk show host who used his status to give rise to a movement touting that there were an “institutional hatred of America being taught” in African-American households.   This was more than offensive to me as an African-American single father but more so as a former US Marine.   Thinking that government affords even the average citizen protect...

The Age when our Children go wrong-The War for Control of your Kid’s Soul Continues

Yesterday, Wednesday, November 10, 2010, I accompanied my mother to court to be there for my nephew and her ward.   We had been instructed that court would start promptly at 9 am Central Standard Time and we arrived with plenty of time to spare.   Should have known that things were not going to go particularly well because the first voice we heard as we stepped off of the elevator on the 4 th floor of the Winnebago County Court House was the voice of a bailiff informing those collected that only the parents of the accused minor would be allowed into the courtroom so those who came for moral support would have to wait outside.   I did not care too much for that proclamation because I know that walking out into a situation like that for a young man is a stressful time and the only comfort one can feel at that time is seeing a familiar face.   It’s probably the one time where family can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt their love for that minor and the minor can see an...
