Bar Marco is Poster Child for what a Successful Business should look and act like

For quite some time now, I have been searching to find just one true American who will become the trend-setter of an industry that has far too long been an excuse for getting the best talent.  The industry is the restaurant industry and lo and behold one finally emerges.  You can read about it in an article titled “ A Restaurant Just Banned Tips And Employees Are Thrilled ” written by Hayley Peterson for Business Insider. In the article it is reported that “a Pittsburgh restaurant just banished tips and in return, started paying employees a $35,000 salary with benefits.  The restaurant, called Bar Marco, is also giving its workers health care, 500 shares in the company, and paid vacation.  "America needs to realize that working in the restaurant industry is an occupation," Bar Marco co-owner Robert Fry told Eater. All 20 of Bar Marco's employees have signed the new contracts, which state that they will work a maximum of 40 to 44 hours per week and get two days a...

Eliminate Violence in America by forcing Males to Cry

Many men can remember being told that a man doesn’t cry and to do this shows your weakness.   Some even believe that the male species carry the world on their shoulders; while I do not believe in either of these I have been wondering why the nation and the world have become even more violent than it was in the Wild Wild West Times.   Had a conversation with my significant other and asked her the question of why many women cry all the time.   She explained that tears are a release and they can represent completely different things.   They cry when they are sad, they cry when they are happy and they cry when they are mad.   This made me began to wonder if this world would be so violent had males been taught to cry instead. We know that the majority of this nation and world violence are started by and lead by males.   We know that in order to reduce our stress level we need to have a avenue to express our feelings but we also know that many males are bein...

McDonald’s 50,000 worker hiring spree will do more for market share than image

The announcement of hiring over 50,000 workers today as provided McDonald’s with news coverage and much hype these few days but what is spoken about is more about image and hat this will do for the unemployment rate.   That’s not the big story because the big story is more about market share. We all know that McDonald’s is the most popular fast food chain in the world to many it is for good reason.   Lately fast food has come under some heat for the kinds of meals that they offer and each time they would adjust but this move is so much more than that.   Annalyn Censky of CNN Money reports in her article titled McDonald's hiring 50,000 workers today that “t he new openings are available across 14,000 restaurants and include crew and management positions, part-time and full-time jobs. The average starting wage is $8 an hour, a McDonald's ( MCD , Fortune 500 ) spokeswoman said.”   This announcement alone would improve any companies’ image but let’s look into the marke...
