Many a Christian leaders wishes to tell people about sinning and how one is worse than another but many times those ideas are based upon what they heard or the piecing together of certain fragments from the Bible to make their assumptions appear true.  Now the Bible does asks us to accept another person’s truth and considering all that God has done for us, this request should be quite easy to do for him.  So when I hear Christian leaders spew information about how homosexuality is worse than greed, bearing false witness and so many others, I have to accept it but that does not mean I have to like it or agree with it.  It would be safe to say that I do not. It’s becoming quite clear to me as to why many of us feel that God does not exist and it is not because of what we know is true but what we choose to accept as truth.  We know, within the very being of our soul that God does exist and he exists within each and every one of us.  We know that the true spirit of God is the image in which he created all of us and we know that what is on the outside of anyone is not anything close to the real spirit that dwells inside.  We know that we are much more alike than we care to admit and we know that righteousness is not a rite of passage or heritage but an innate sense that each of us have which compels many to do the right thing even when a force much larger is determine to convince us to do wrong. I am sure, by now, many of you have heard the story of the 103 year old lady who was recently banned from a church she had attended since she was 13 years old and even the secretary of that church for a number of years.  Like most of you, when I first heard it I was upset because the God that I know is not the God that this church, and many others like it, don’t.  The God that I know accepts all regardless of color, sex, and even sins but apparently this church and its leaders seem to wish to develop what they call a place of God into their vision instead of leaving it to God to form that building as he/she sees fit.  Part of the story is presented below. All of us should have heard the saying “Bless it are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called “the Children of God”.   If you have not heard or read this then it has been a failure of those before you to educate you on what that means.   It’s the only clear definition of God’s expectation of us while so many others can be gleamed and interpreted but is not so clear. It does not say that any specific religion is the children of God nor does it say that any particular color, creed, or sex is the child of God.   The Bible tells us that we all are God’s children yet we divide ourselves into these groups each claiming more of a connection.   Labels are those definitions we place upon ourselves and do not reflect the wishes of anyone but ourselves.   You decide to worship in a particular way so your gravitate toward those who share your vision of religion but that, by no means, prove that you are any closer to God than someone who choose to worship in another ma...

While there are those who strongly disagree with The Bible, no other book currently or later created that will ever be able to compete with it.   The Bible is more than just a bunch of words; it’s a life map and provides the guidance that we all need from time to time when we have lost our way. Religion has always been a subject too many of us disagree on and many use to declare war or dismiss those who oppose their way of thinking.   It was also a subject that many felt needed to be separated from politics, the government, out of school and other private places.   Few ever broach the subject unless you have the title of Reverent, Pastor, Father, Padre and Rabbi along with others that may exist.   For me I think it is sad that we can not have an intelligent conversation about religion without someone trying to force their views on another often by violence.   We are now presented with an opportunity to try and have this conversation again since Tom Breen of the Associated Press penned an article titled Who's in hell? Often times when I enter a conversation with someone who label themselves a Christian or attend church services regularly, the first question that I encounter is “What church do you attend?”   While this may be a valid point from their prospective, it has no bearing for me.   I tend not to be verbally rude but it makes me want to ask them why it really matters.   Is one church better than the other or is it because one feels more at home in a particular one?   Either way the conversation continues.   Since I do not attend any building called a church regularly, those who do tend to dismiss my thoughts on the Bible as if you have to attend regularly in order to have any.   Because of these conversations, I have decided to share with you my thoughts so that all many know and if one day you happen to come upon me, you can now decide early to ignore them.
