When the Republican Party Stopped Being the Party of Lincoln

You hear many claim the Republican party as the Party of Lincoln when they make attempts to reform the current Republican Party into a party of human rights, decency, and a true governing body but these attempts soon fall face first at the feet of those who prefer to bully people instead of listening to them.   Those using this method often gets extremely frustrated because they thought this fact would snap them out of this MAGA funk and back to a party one could be truly proud of again. The frustration mounts because perhaps they said it to the wrong wayward Republicans or in the wrong group of the GOP because they truly believe that if anyone looked at the stance that Lincoln took, they would change directions and honor his name and memory.   The truth is, the Republican Party stopped being the party of Lincoln when those of political strength and influence created a plan to install their own guy into the seat of the presidency during Lincoln’s second term.  ...

The Story No One Wishes to Hear

Let’s begin at the beginning.   For those who wish to think that evil existed at the very same time as good, here’s something to think about.   In the Garden of Eden, there lived only two people and much vegetation and one particular apple tree, deemed the Tree of Knowledge.   Adam and Eve lived in a utopia without worry, fear, and dread until they allowed the one representative of evil to convince them to take a bite of an apple from that tree.   When they did this, they now knew themselves to be completely naked, which started the trip to now question everything.   That bite of that apple did more than just make them aware of their surroundings, it opened the door for evil to enter this world from which it would never leave.   Another shocker for those of your wishing to continue to stumble around in the dark.   Adam and Eve were not white, as many wishes us to believe.   Adam and Eve were Indian. Think that’s a lie, consider this. Ice-...

Americans Standing Idle While Democracy Dies at our Feet

Please allow me to begin with a phrase that we all have heard and many repeated over time, HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF, yet utilizing another phrase many may have heard but seldom repeated In God is speaking about rebellious people. “They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear” (Ezekiel 12:2). Today we consider the influence of Donald J. Trump in reference to his ability to lead the MAGA-Republicans in a take over of the Republican Party.   Many are surprised by this and have been asking how it happened and what does it mean for the democracy of these United States, but truth be told, this evolution is not surprising and should have been expected since history does repeats itself and many of us have eyes but do not see and ears but do not hear. The dye was casted when the Whig Party, “a conservative political party that existed in the United States during the mid-19th century and joined the Democratic Party to become one of the two major parties in t...

The Up-Side to President-Elect Trump

To the die-hard Democrats and strong supporters of Hillary Clinton, it is very difficult to find any up-side to the stealing of an election by 15 people who makes the ultimate decision of who will lead this country and to the die-hard Conservatives and strong supporters of Donald Trump, it is a time to celebrate and speak the words that avoided them often which is “just give the man a chance”. Now many questions comes to mind none of which seems more relevant than the idea that a female is ill-equipped to lead a nation such as this one but there is one that seems to escape even the most intelligent of our species which is when has a nation built to serve people is better served if we run this country as a business rather than as a nation of people. So far, those being interviewed for key positions is more of a who’s who of those less concerned about unity and more concerned about their own specific ideology.  This strikes fear in many and elation in others all the while th...

Trump Presumptive Nomination is the result of GOP voters’ temper tantrums

The Grand Ole Party voters are throwing a temper tantrum right now and Donald J. Trump is the recipient of the fall out.  Why are they throwing a temper tantrum?  There are several reasons for it, some are good and some are not so good but those are not what worry me.  It’s not the reason; it’s the results that frighten me. When the Tea Party was going strong and Democrats decided to stay home, the GOP glided into offices all over the states and in Washington taunting destruction from within.  Many thought that surely they would not do that and if they tried, the senior members of the GOP would stop them in their tracks and educate them on how this is supposed to truly work.  Many thought the senior members would corral these gunslingers and show them that no one gets everything that they want but by compromising, you can get a lot of what you want.  They were wrong and when it came time for those more extreme candidates to seek re-election the GOP vot...

GOP looking for a way to stop Trump don’t its happening the way it should

People often wonder why someone would run for president and often times they say it takes a pretty large helping of arrogance to think that you could be the leader of the free world but I think that it is more than that.  I think it is simply a way for history to either repeat itself or get rewritten.  Repeat itself, when we refuse to learn from the past and get rewritten when we choose to not only learn from the past but change it.  Yes, I think the spirit of a person compels them to run or put themselves out there for public consumption so that we have a chance to demonstrate whether we want a different outcome or not.  I believe that it’s the spirit of a person which pushes them to seek public office and not simply an emotion of arrogance, desire or even duty.  I believe that this man-made body is more controlled by the spirit that dwells within it than many of us know.  The actions we take, the decisions we make and the satisfaction we seek are all...

Republicans best Weapons against Losing, Polls and Democrats

While the political media is all ablaze about the big win regarding the governorship of Kentucky and Virginia keeping its House in Republican control, much is being made about how those who won ran their campaign but to a novice political junkie like me their reason for victory is much simpler. It was widely reported that Mr. Conway had the lead in the polls coming into this election and because of that Republicans employed their next best weapons to give Mr. Blevins his win.  They deployed the sheer laziness and lack of focus by the majority of Democrats knowing that as long as the polls said their candidate would win, that their job was done.  It worked and will continue to work until those who claim the title of Democrat, Independent or just plain those who are tired of sending people to office who do little if anything to serve them stay home on election day. I see little evidence that gerrymandering districts is the reason and I see little evidence that uncoverin...

The Best Thing that Happened at either Republicans Debates

Not much outside of media concentrating on WWDD (What would Donald do) occurred in the Republicans Debates except one of the most spectacular answers to a question anyone could have ever given.  A peak into what the majority of us would love to see more of and what we envision this nation’s political positions to always be.  I find myself agreeing strongly with some of the statements made in an article called “ 2 under-the-radar Republicans won big at the debate ” by Brett Logiurato for Business Insider dot com. Mr. Logiurato writes “ The GOP debate's hometown candidate just gave a touching answer on gay marriage. This GOP candidate barely made the debate stage —but he might be the one to watch tonight.  Four years ago, at a Republican presidential debate moderated by Fox News host Megyn Kelly, a gay soldier asked GOP candidates a question.  "Do you intend to circumvent the progress that's been made for gay and lesbian soldiers in the military?" the soldier aske...

Still waiting on those who cried about taking back their country to take back their party

For years many of us have been saying that in order for America to take back their prospective political parties, they must first remove big money but the Supreme Court and gerrymandering districts as well as the lack of true will from voters have done little in that regards.  All parties are subject to big money influence but it appears that one party, in particular, seems to be strangled by it.  Even though large donors get to have voice in the say of the Democratic Party, we are still allowed to look forward to things like the unemployment rate dropping, the stock market reaching new heights, the life-long wars end, the economy recovering, the deficit dropping and consumer confidence returning but for those in the Republican Party, nothing says more about where it stands that this article titled “ In Leaked Tape Mitch McConnell Admits The Koch Brothers Are Running The Republican Party” written by Jason Easley for Politicus USA. In it Mr. Easley reveals “Sen. Mitch McC...

Meet Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush’s New 2016 Running Mate

Things were kind of falling into place when there was a story about Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney meeting and then there was the story titled “Jeb Bush snags top Mitt Romney Iowa strategist David Kochel” by Benjy Sarlin and Kasie Hunt but now it seems to have come full circle with the story titled “Mitt Romney is not Running for President in 2016” by Daniel Strauss for Talking Points Memo.  Many will now be asking why and to me the answer is clear.  Those wizards behind the curtain are prepared to spend billions of dollars on this round of elections and the last thing they need is a bruised and battered candidate.  They favor the younger crowd but know that after what America has just endured, someone without any kind of experience will not make it through the general elections, so they hedge their bets and last time Romney killed any chance of him ever being president when he made so many major blunders even though only a few of them was captured for prosperity. The answ...

Obama to Democrats, Liberals and Progressives Stop whining and Grow a Pair

Now let me make this absolutely clear, there is no record of President Obama ever saying this to anyone but if I had my way, this would be exactly what I would tell all of them.  Not because I wanted to create a riff in the organization but because it is high time those who call themselves representing these groups on television stop seeking the president to solve all of their problems and grow up by solving them themselves. I say this because I hear it all over every media, that congress failed to get something pushed through or stop something from getting through then going on television to lay the responsibility of stopping what they could not at the foot of this president.  Look at where this country was when he was inaugurated and look at where it is today.  All those who said his agenda was too ambitious and would never happen are often found now sitting quietly in some corner of a darken room with their heads up their butts.  Sure there are some promises ...

Lack of Action in Washington is not all Republicans Fault

Depending on which channel you are watching will often determine which side of the issue of inaction in Washington you take but to me, the best position to sit in order to see the entire forest is right smack dab in the middle. Sitting here, I can see the wonderful things this President has accomplished while in office as well as a few things I still have a hard time figuring out why he made the choice he did.  There are a tremendous amount of things he has done that I can honestly agree with and will defend to no end but there are also things that he has done which I do not agree with and would need much more convincing to defend.  This is the advantage I have by keeping myself in the middle. Being in the middle has also made certain actions in and around Washington clear for me which do not involve the president.  Take the Supreme Court for an example.  The rules that they have instituted, and I say instituted because once you step into the role of legisla...
