Bigotry is defined as a person who is intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices while prejudice is defined as a preconceived judgment or opinion formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge.   These definitions goes a very long way in proving my point and providing the substances as to why I feel that bigotry and prejudice may never die.    People develop prejudice about almost everything and very few ever take the time to investigate to find out if the grounds for their prejudice are true or not.   The failure of Black America to take the time to learn the true essence of White America leads to prejudice of all whites just as when White America refuses to invest the time to find out if what they have heard or been taught is true about Black America.   The same thing happens with any group or section of our society when those who are not a part of it fails to seek sufficient knowledge about that group or section.  ...

I tire of hearing some African-Americans who say that Herman Cain is not getting a break from the news media.   What they should be saying is those around Herman Cain are not as in love with him as they pretend and is therefore only using him to get what they can while they can. Some of you may ask why I say this and to keep it quite simple it’s because if you cared as much about Herman Cain as some say they do, the bonehead mistake that he makes while making all African-American look like backwards people would not be happening.   If you cared enough, you would make sure that when he speaks, he speaks from some position of some knowledge instead of playing this entire exercise as a game or something to have fun with.   This is a serious job requiring a serious person.   We have had enough court jesters in the Oval Office we do not need one in the run up to the nomination. To say that the Republican Debate conducted by CNBC was painful to watch is an understatement.   I had hoped to hear something different and find a reason to be positive about the upcoming 2012 election but was greatly disappointed.   I cared not about the accusations of sexual harassment involving Herman Cain but I was glad to hear him being asked about character.   I cringed when Rick Perry spoke about the agencies he would close and so many other things. It was nice to hear Jon Huntsman respond to the questions asked of him and even though I may not agree with much of what he said, it was the only highlights that I can point to.   I wonder when the “real” Republicans are going to stand up and declare that the 23% does not speak for them and instead of trying to take this country back to the 1800s, take the party back from the Tea Party first.   We need a different set of voices to help us make the best decision for this nation’s benefit as a whole but wh...

Many mainstream pundits and talking heads of the GOP were quick to blame the outing of Herman Cain sexual harassment incident on Democrats and some even called it another “lynching” as was mentioned in the Clarence Thomas Hearings.   Now that it appears the incident may have been leaked by those within his own party, those who first claimed this is suspiciously quiet. What may be getting lost in this entire endeavor is that Mr. Cain’s team may have leaked this themselves and playing the media for their own gain.   Consider this, blame the Perry campaign and raise millions of dollars by gathering a larger part of the Republican elective,   This ensure that Perry will not be the one to contend with Mitt Romney for the Republican nominee for President.   The more people who side with Cain, the less Perry will garner and eventually may be forced to withdraw.   Why else would you implicate anyone without providing proof?    Now Rick Perry is attempting...

I was somewhat taken aback when I heard Ann Coulter saying something close to “our blacks are better than theirs”.   When did her Republican Party take ownership of conservatism? Being a conservative is not limited to any party and does not tag anyone as a particular member of any party.   There are conservatives who are members of the Democratic Party as well as Independents.   It has never been a big part of any real party to label themselves as one party or another.   We are mostly conservative in some areas while being liberal in others.   We can hold principles from all areas while following either party.   This explains why many of us may agree with those of our own party while also disagreeing with them at the same time. As this election season begins to heat up, I never really placed much thought in the ideas of those who seemed so far removed from the economic issues of this nation when it comes to anything especially foreign affairs but with the recent deluge of comments coming from these individuals, it has raised a question or two. Mitt Romney has a well-earned reputation as a “flip-flopper” and one of the lessons learned from those currently in Congress and our former presidents is this nation cannot afford another politician who does not have a consistent position on the issues facing this nation.   There is plenty of documented and recorded proof of how Mr. Romney will tailor his position to meet the requirements of his audience and while that is a good thing when you are trying to sell a product, it should not be accepted when you are asking for the votes to place you in the White House. While it may be confusing to many, why Herman Cain has been heard spouting disparaging remarks when referencing Black people in general, it is not confusing to others who have spent a lifetime trying to understand why the connection of all Blacks are not as strong as we see in other cultures, or is it? In recent interviews Herman Cain has been recorded saying some things that make many in the African-American community scratch their heads and some times consider it coming from a source of an “Uncle Tom”.   A “sell-out” and a person who would sacrifice anyone or anything to get a little further up on the ladder of statue.   To some it is disheartening to hear a prominent person speak with such a low tolerance of their own community and yet it’s pleasing to others in that very same community because they feel the same way but refuse to get caught saying it out loud. When the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO joined the list of nominees for the Republican Party Presidential Nomination, many in the media, blogosphere and cable television did not pay much attention.   Only after Cain won a straw poll and began to climb in the polls did he warrant a closer look.   Herman Cain has not been vetted as much as many others who have surged in these polls and the reason may be as simple as The Ticket’s Rachel Rose Hartman ’s article Cain touts Main Street appeal, Aunt Bessie implies when it reports that "He just has a different type of business experience," he said. On Fox this Sunday Herman Cain, the 2012 Republican Candidate and former Godfather Pizza owner was asked about the Israel Palestine situation and you could clearly see that he had no earthly idea about it.   Why these patriots who step up to complain about the way this country is headed, not first form and confirm solutions before they speak, I have no idea.    But then I guess that what makes America so great.   We can have opinions about something and be given a platform to spout those opinions but really are not required to know anything about the subject of those opinions. Mitch Daniels, R-Ind., said Sunday he won't run for president because of family concerns, narrowing the field but making a wide-open race even hazier.”     It speaks to “the Republican establishment who longed for a conservative with a strong fiscal record to run.   Polls show that Republican primary voters want more options in a race that includes former Govs. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, as well as ex-House Speaker Newt Gingrich and others” but what this article did not speak to was why. While you will not see me asking for a Republican ballot at the polling place come the general election, I still was quite disturbed by the first Republican debate hosted by Fox and the Republican Party of South Carolina.   I was disappointed for several reasons but the ultimate was the disregard shown by those who had spoke like they were going to run, defended the party as if it was a close family member but did not show up at all. According to a staff reporter for My Fox Phoenix in an article titled First Republican Presidential Debate Kicks Off , the reason “some top tier candidates were excluded from competing due to FOX rules specifying that candidates must have formed a presidential exploratory committee with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and paid a filing fee with the Republican Party of South Carolina.”   I believe that these debates had been scheduled far enough in advance that those top tier candidates had plenty of time to prepare.   Even though th...
