Gun Rights pale in comparison to another right the Right to Life

For all those wanna-be bad asses in America that think the only way to solve a problem is behind the butt of a gun, let me ask you a few questions.  The true meaning of ownership is that which you can take with you wherever you go even in death and since none of the material things you covet, you are able to do that with, what is it that you truly own.  In death, all you will be able to take with you is your soul so why is it not the most important possession to protect?  Why do we pretend that what we purchase is worth the life of another person when it is not something we can take with us where ever we go and why is it so important to pretend to care about the plight of man on one hand while pulling that trigger on another man from the other?  How many of you would be willing to be responsible for the taking of 10 lives simply because you were so set on ridding the world of all those who don’t think or act like you. I asked this because I ran into this article...

If Ted Nugent wasn’t saying something you wanted to hear would you be listening

Like so many speakers being quoted and researched by our media, many of them is truly not worth the ink and the paper but every once in a while, someone comes along and it appears that since they speak to only a select group, the larger group feels compelled to listen.  How sad is that?  One such person is the famed rocker Ted Nugent.  His latest rants have been mostly about Barack Obama and how bad of a president that he makes.  His rants keep him in the news and keeps him relevant because someone has to pay him to speak so it is truly not much about whether he convinces anyone  and only about padding his bank account or simply paying his bills.  He can’t make a living selling records anymore but like all of us, he has to eat so he does that which many wish to pay him to do.  God bless his little imperfect soul but when it comes to his mention of the military or talking going to war, knowing that he will never be out there to dodge one bullet, for me...

When did the Political Life of a Politician Trump the Real Life of Gun Violence Victims?

When asked the only answer that you will probably hear from politicians who will not even vote for sensible gun legislation is that it is “political suicide”.  So one can assume that the hundreds of people losing their lives to guns are not as important to politicians.  At what point did it become acceptable to do less for this nation as a whole and more for those who buy your soul.  The Bible tells us that a rich man has about as much chance getting into heaven as a camel has passing through the eye of a needle yet no one cares.  We all sit around on our backsides and allow politicians to follow the will of the rich instead of following the will of the people.  This anomaly is not only in the gun control debate, it is also prevalent in the immigration debate, war debate and every other political and judicial decision being made in this country and we call ourselves students of the Bible? I wonder, if these same people who pay homage to the d...

The Problem with CPAC

The problem with CPAC is the same problem all prominent and televised group face.   Many of them are so quick to tell America what the problem is but none will tell America what they intend on doing about it and how.   America wants details and not surface dust.   CPAC had a golden opportunity to put together a list of speakers who not only reminded us what was wrong but what was right and how we can fix the issue.   If the Republicans wish to get back all that they have and soon will lose, they need to get back to solutions and stop all this fakeness.     Now don’t let the other groups get off scot-free either.   Many groups formed today are formed because they see a flaw in our system but how many of them offer anything but rhetoric.   I see few if any saying okay America here is the situation, here is what has been done in the past and why it did not work.   So now here is what we are proposing and why it will.   Convincing ...

The Making of a Monster

The subject is the attack on Democratic Rep. Gilford and her supporters in that mall in Tucson, Arizona.   Much has been made about the lesson lawmakers may be learning about their own security, much is being made about what both parties could do to try and fix this problem.   Much is being made about the rhetoric that is spewed by those who find it easy to get in front of a camera and speak as if they and those who hang on their every word are the only true Americans on this planet but what I think may be missing more than anything else is the influence of parents or parental figures in our society and what they should be doing to also help curb this type of activity. What brought me this thought was an article written by Associated Press’ Justin Pritchard titled Shooting suspect's nihilism rose with isolation .   In that article it mostly spoke about the type of person the alleged shooter appeared to be from the take of his school mates.   It attempted to describe...

The Debate over Gun Control

Not being an avid gun holder/collector myself, I really had not thought too much about this issue.   The unnecessary shooting in Tucson, Arizona brought this issue to light but to me still wasn’t enough for me to really join the fray until I saw the segment on the Rachel Maddow Show about how many times one individual was able to go to the same place and buy up to twenty assault rifles each time without it raising questions for anyone. I served this country in the United States Marines from Sept 1980 till April 1991 and in that time, learned one important fact about guns.   They are useful and legal but when they are turned into nothing more than a conversation piece or something that is used to force your values on another then they become like any other commodity and needs to be heavily regulated.   When I saw heavily regulated I do not mean that laws need to be legislated to prevent responsible and rational Americans from owing, what I mean is that they show not be so...
