I don’t often place much stock in old wise sayings or  other kinds of superstitions but every once in a while a thought occurs to me which not only revives those old sayings but possibly creates another in my mind which I believe is placed there to share.  For some reason or another, I awoke this morning with a thought of cleanliness being next to Godliness just like arrogance is next to ignorance, I’ll explain. Many people claim that marriage according to the will of God is between one man and one woman.  Because so many say this and are supposed to be experts in this subject, most of the world follows right along, but what if I told you that this is really not the will of God but the will of man.  Will you then open your eyes and realize that man has a habit of replacing God’s will with his own in order to justify his greed and unquenchable desires.  What if I told you that marriage is not a godly institution at all and is all made up by man.  Would you be willing to pick up the Bible and check for yourself or would you choose to continue to stay clueless?  You probably would because I keep saying what if I tell you or show you and by this, I give you a clear excuse to ignore what I am writing.  You are given a convenient excuse not to even take a few minutes to check out what I am saying.  Well fear not for we thought of that and instead of listening a...

The more I consider the “War on Women” and all of the bills being pushed and passed by Republican-led State Houses as well as those being crafted in Washington, I cannot help but wonder where are the female lawmakers and why are they voting for things like this? It’s becoming increasingly clear that many are focusing too much on symbols to determine the mindset or belief system of another.   While being born and raised in the south and experiencing racism first-hand, I know for a fact that a flag does not represent who you are.   It’s time we all took a step back and take a breath. While it is true that many southern group that promote racism carries around the Confederate Flag and to people born into times as I was, seeing that flag does raise a lot of suspicions, but suspicions does not make for truth.   Many African-Americans, Hispanics and poor Whites know this first hand because it is that same suspicion that gets us followed around the stores when we go shopping.   It’s that same suspicion which causes us to lose out on a good job or an opportunity to advance our lives and the lives of our families.   We know this suspicion oh too well.   The article by Associated Press writer Jeff Barnard titled Ore. bu...

As a former US Marine, it pisses me off that a group of idiots are allowed to go to places uninvited and demean the ultimate sacrifice of any one of my fallen comrades.   To don that uniform and be willing to sacrifice your very existence for this nation regardless whether you spent time in combat or not is extraordinary and needs to be honored.   To leave this world after having offered yourself to this nation is the ultimate sacrifice and it should be so in anyone’s book. Having said that I also have to say as a former US Marine, we all have to applaud the courage of those Supreme Court Justices who did not allow personal feelings to go into the true interpretation of the law.   A law that I and my fellow service members offer our lives to protect each and everyday.   While I do not particularly care for the outcome, I still must honor their decision as I pray that others will honor mine.    According to an article written by Associated Press Mark She...

It’s been a long time coming but finally its here.   A decision that no longer forces one belief over another and offers to all equality seldom seen but often sought.   My pride for this administration just shot up several notches. According to Pete Yost of the Associated Press reports in his article titled Gov't drops defense of anti-gay marriage law the Obama administration said Wednesday it will no longer defend the constitutionality of a federal law banning recognition of same-sex marriage.   Attorney General Eric Holder said President Barack Obama has concluded that the administration cannot defend the federal law that defines marriage as only between a man and a woman.
