Did Tiger’s Recent Success Cause his Ex-Wife to bulldoze her Home?

Parts of me have to wonder why this story has surfaced now and how long ago this may have happened.   Not having met either Tiger Woods or his ex Elin Nordegren, I can by no means be considered an expert with their relationship but like many others I do have an opinion. Shane Bacon of Devil Ball Golf in the article titled Tiger Woods’ ex-wife bulldozes $12 million home, his question was “Why in the world is she still in Florida? Wouldn't you want to move back home for good?”   I can not answer that question but it does bring up a few ideas on the subject.   We did not hear much from or about her until Tiger began to make some strides in his possible “comeback”.   We did hear a little from his former caddy but not so much from his ex.   I’m thinking that they were quite content to see his game suffer and his life follow suits but now that things may be turning around, they may become a little more bothered. With $100 million dollars, it is my guess that you c...

The Return of Tiger Woods

After watching the Chevron Tournament featuring Tiger Woods first win in a very long time, one begins to wonder if this is the turning point to where we will now begin to see the best golfer in the world retaking his place in the history books.   Personally, I say that watching him during this tournament makes me think that the commentators and analyst might just have a point but a part of me is still a little apprehensive because of the fear of disappointment.   Not disappointment in in personal life because no one should have to live up to the standards set by another but his performance on the course.   I saw a Tiger Woods on the final shot at the 18 th hole that I haven’t seen in quite some time.   I heard a Tiger roar and saw a Tiger strut.   I liked what I saw and it makes me want to follow him closely so that I may see that again. I submit that if the Tiger who showed up on the 16, 17 and 18 th hole shows up and plays all week, America might ju...

The rewrite of Tiger Woods

When I first saw the titled of Buzz Bissinger article as found in the Daily Beast Tiger Woods Is Never Coming Back , I was confused to how he came about this until I took a few minutes to read it before assuming what he meant.   While I am not still completely clear on his take, I do see similar stances between him and me on this subject.   I believe his main take was “The march of Tiger now routinely fizzles out, and what happened at that early hole at Augusta wasn’t triumph at all but a bittersweet false spring, a flickering reminder of what he was but will never be again. The confident swagger up the fairway, the snickering asides to his caddy as challenger after challenger fell like tin cans in the wind, the belief, so often right, that he could not and would not lose, is gone. Just as so many millions of us witnessed his remarkable ascent, so many of us are witnessing his equally remarkable destruction.”   This point here I understand it but have to totally dis...

ESPN’s The Sports Reporters now have egg on their faces

Similar to the take of Jay Busbee from Yahoo Sports in his article titled   Rory McIlroy’s a good sport about losing the green jacket was the over-all feelings of those experts occupying chairs in Sunday’s ESPN show called “The Sports Reporters”.   To a person the conversation was all about Rory McIlroy and how much better he was than Tiger Woods.   Each depicted Tiger as a dried up old man that did not have a right to be on the same course as these young guns.   McIlroy’s drives and putting was compared and they even went as far as to question the heart of Woods.   Mr. Saunders who said nothing just sat there without challenging any of them and because of that action was viewed as agreeing with them.   McIlroy showed why he was not yet ready for prime time and those who proclaimed the air apparent should now be in the process of removing their foot from their mouths. The article reports that “one day after   Rory McIlroy 's  apocalyptic meltdo...

Awaking the Tiger

In Tom Kinslow’s Bleacher Report article titled Masters 2011: Ian Poulter Takes Shot at Tiger Woods, Was It Uncalled For? I found myself agreeing with much of what he wrote.   No one puts it better than Mr. Kinslow and I wished I could’ve said these things first.   The drama of the Masters may be something of seeing which golfer will play their best game and come out on top but the real money is watching Tiger Woods and seeing where he ends up. Mr. Kinslow quoted Ian Poulter saying “ Woods won't even finish in the top-five  according to the BBC . However, he didn't stop there as he continued to rip into the man who used to be the most dominant player on the tour.   The shots he [Woods] was hitting at Doral, they were very inconsistent," Poulter said according to the BBC report. "You can't afford to hit shots like that round this golf course and get away with it."   I do not think that Ian was asked about Tiger to get his professional opinion on another sup...

Could Doral be seen as the end of the Tiger Woods era?

After reading this Doug Ferguson article for Associated Press titled Watney comes up big to win at Doral , I was left with one thought.   Could this be the end of the Woods era in golf?   I quickly came up wit an answer and the answer is “NO”. Ferguson’s article focused on Nick Watney as it should because he did win the tournament with quite an array of world class golfer like Woods and Michelson but what brought me back to the initial question was something that Ferguson had in this article and especially something Woods said.   “Tiger Woods matched his best score of the year with a 6-under 66, and when Rory McIlroy dunked his tee shot into the water on the 18th hole and made bogey, that enabled Woods to tie for 10th.   It was his first top 10 in an official PGA Tour event in nine months, dating to the U.S. Open.”   "I want to win golf tournaments ... and I didn't do that this week," Woods said. "But I showed positive signs for the next time I play, which is a...
