In the aftermath of this tragedy, we are all looking quite closely at the events leading up to and after this trial searching for a lesson, a reason and a solution.   In that vein, some are being held to a different standard than before.   Now you don’t have to say anything but agrees with the verdict and you are either a racist or ignorant.   If you disagree with the verdict you are either racist or ignorant.   Either way, you get the point; we are all now ignorant or racist. According to the Associated Press in their piece titled Amtrak, 15 states, including Illinois, get $2B Florida lost, “the Obama administration is giving Amtrak and rail projects in 15 states the $2 billion that Florida lost after the governor canceled plans for high-speed train service.   A Department of Transportation statement today said the largest share of the money — nearly $800 million — will be used to upgrade train speeds from 135 mph to 160 mph on critical segments of the heavily traveled Northeast corridor.   Another $404 million will go to expand high-speed rail service in the Midwest, including newly constructed segments of 110-mph track between Detroit and Chicago that are expected to save passengers 30 minutes in travel time.   The money had initially been awarded to Florida for high-speed trains between Tampa and Orlando. I had been saying this for quite some time and it seemed as if no one was listening.   Well I’ll say it again and this time shows you the proof.   None of these states or the federal government is broke.   There is plenty of money to take care of its citizens and they all know it.   The problem is that some are allowed to get away with paying nothing (Corporate America) while others are being charged double (the American people).   Politicians have taken the money and used it in other places only to find that when the tab is due on the item for which they got the money for, they panicked and cut some place else to pay that bill.   My proof is the magic money that Florida’s governor Rick Scott and his lawmakers suddenly came up with when the fire got a little too hot for him.
