A Tree shall be Known by the Fruit that it Bears

I find it quite humorous when I hear people claiming to be one thing or another.   Claiming to be a republican, a Democrat, or an Independent but the thing that seriously bothers me when people claim the title of Christian and yet act like a total hypocrite. Hypocrisy is defined as “the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense” and if we are to be honest with ourselves and those around us, not one person can ever claim to not have claimed to be one thing while their actions depict something else.   I don’t think that any one mortal can ever claim that they have not fallen into this trip at least one time or another in their lives.   Because we are human, and accidents happen, it is okay to admit that we have faults and work to fix them instead of covering them up but of course many of us will go to our earthly graves pretending that this has not or currently happened to them. Hence the title of...

Before Reparations-Black America has a greater need

To say that I was surprised to be directed toward an article titled “Evanston, Illinois to begin distribution of up to $25K in reparations to Black residents” written by DeMicia Inman for Yahoo News dated March 4, 2021 would be an understatement.   I guess my surprise came when I realized that this action, while maybe of good intentions, would clearly do more harm than good in the long run.   The article reported that “the midwestern city is the first in the country to establish reparations with a commitment of $10M over the next decade.  In Evanston, Illinois, eligible Black residents will receive reparations up to $25K as part of a commitment from the city. ABC News reported that the city, north of Chicago, will begin issuing payments this year. 5th Ward Alderman Robin Rue Simmons pushed for the legislation. She was inspired to work on closing the racial wealth gap through her own experience growing up Black in Evanston and still living there t...

The History of Politics-An Un-American Sport

A brother Marine asked me “Why does the African-American community vote Democrat?   He asked me if I could try to explain it to him and below is my explanation. Since no race of people are all the same, I can only tell you what I think that reason maybe but if you want a more definitive answer you are going to have to ask individual blacks.   Here is what I believe could possibly be the reason so many others vote Democratic.     The first thing that needs to be made clear is the majority of African Americans don’t follow a party but an idea.   If a politician promises to do right by the African-American community, he/she has a really good chance of getting their votes but when they get in power, forget their promises and/or turn their backs on blacks, know that next go around, many blacks would not spit in their butts if their guts were on fire and if the turning of the back was brought on by a group of people, that group would pay as well.   Her...

Evil’s Arrogance

Today’s focus is on this election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden for the office of the President of the United States and while I cannot say that it is not something we should not be focused upon, there are other things going on behind the scenes of this that we refuse to recognize or choose to just simply ignore. Many claim that it is a fight between Democrat and Republican, Liberal and Conservative, the Right and the Left, the Right and the Wrong but that is not the truth, as I see it.   It is and always will be the fight between Good and Evil. This battle has been waging since the beginning of time and it is a never-ending war.   It is a battle that will be and must be fought every day of our mortal existence.   It is one that will never have clear winners and losers because if just a few of us fail to achieve victory in this war, we all fail.   This is not a battle to save the soul of a country, a nation, a world, or a universe.   It is the ba...

Past Adventures of Hunter Biden dashes hopes of ever seeing a President Biden

Sometimes the decision whether a politician will run for anything is not left up to them but sometimes members of their family.  This may just be the story of why America will never see a President Joe Biden in the White House.  It will not be because Joe Biden would not make a good president nor is it because Joe Biden could not win; it is simply because of events which even though are outside of his control can be played quite well as events that he could have controlled.  Perception can be a very cruel mistress. The final straw could possibly be found in this article titled “ Sources: Hunter Biden leaves Navy after drug test ” written for the Associated Press in which it states that “ Hunter Biden, the youngest son of Vice President Joe Biden, has been kicked out of the military after testing positive for cocaine, two people familiar with the matter said Thursday.  The Navy said that Biden, a former lobbyist who works at a private equity firm, was discharge...

The Tale of Two Debates-Obama vs. Romney 1

Having not being able to view the Obama-Romney Debate live and in person, I subjected myself to hearing the recap from pundits, commentators and those experts who seem to have their finger on the pulse of the political events shaping our world.  According to them, I half expected to see Mitt Romney as an aggressive overseer, holding a whip and taming both Barack Obama and the moderator Jim Lehr.  The vision I had was Romney’s complete command from beginning to end and Obama just standing in a corner somewhere refusing to look in Romney’s direction in fear of being lashed for disobedience.  However after watching it in it’s entirety, the debate that I saw was completely different than the one I had heard about.  This made me begin to questioned if I had witnessed a completely different one. The one that I saw, showed me how gracious Obama really is toward someone he disagrees with.  It showed me that he could deliver a devastating and direct hit to his opponen...

My Favorite Moments of the DNC Convention

My favorite moments was less about speeches and more about, sometimes, missed actions by those who participated.  The little things that makes one heart sing and reinforce your belief in the goodness of people. One of these was the sincere look Michelle Obama had on her face when she spoke about how her husband sat and read those letters, committing and re-committing himself to doing whatever he could to ease their pain.  Another was hearing Joe Biden tell us how his first question was always “How will this effect the lives of everyday people.”  For a person to make this there first priority means that he surely seeks to answer to a much higher power than delegates and donors.  I was touched by Bill Clinton’s real reaction when he turned to see Barack coming toward him on the stage.  The bending at the waist was a real reaction and not a staged one.  The embrace that both man shared and the closing of their eyes to soak in the true meaning of their relat...

The gay marriage Debate maybe why this Presidential Election may be closer than it should

Vice President Joe Biden is credited with bringing this topic to the level it is currently but I think what really flipped the lid was when Education Secretary Duncan spoke.   Two of his top officials and those closest to him have spoke their minds about what they believe and to them I say “good for you” but now all focus is on President Obama and what he will say about his evolution.   Some experts are saying that he needs to step up and define better his actions with his rhetoric.   Some experts are saying stay quiet because you may just motivate the other side enough to lose the 2012 election to Mitt Romney.   Both have good points but what I think is being missed is how the Tea/Republican Party are poised to jump on him as soon as he begin speaking.   They are probably putting their talking points together right now. What really bothers me and should be a caution to so many others is the greed displayed by those on the support of gay marriage.   It ...
