Doris’ Final Dagger

As far back as the memories will allow, life has not been the subject of legends living with Doris. From the denial of saying goodbye to your father at the age of three to leaving your alone to fend for yourself at the age of seven. From attempting to sell your off to marry for off to some very old guy to disappearing for weeks with no word and no apology when she finally returned. All of these your still find it hard to forgive and even though your wish you could forget, you know that forgetting is not possible so your simply exist and struggle every day not to retaliate especially since you took her into your home over seven years ago and her health is declining. For the remainder of her earthly life, you dedicate yourself to her service, making and transporting to hundreds of doctor’s appointments, juggling work, family, and her care. Going to bed each night mentally and physically drained only to get the very next day and doing it all again. Weekends bring a small bit of ...

The Arrogance of Intelligence

It is true that there are those of a much higher level of intelligence than others but there is also another truth that runs parallel to that theory which many of us refuse to acknowledge.  Those of higher intelligence may own that space in many things but there is and always will be a space where those of higher intelligence are simply as dumb as a box of rocks.   Now what this simply means is, there are certain things that even the most intelligent is uneducated about. When you go to a car lot and drive away with a vehicle that you really didn’t want but the salesperson convinced you to take, it is said that the salesperson outsmarted you.  What is unknown and often times over-looked is the mindset of the buyer of that vehicle.  Let’s say when you woke up that morning, you had a mission to get you a car today and even though you were well aware that you had no good down payment and your credit sucked, it was something you decided you were going to accompl...

The Daily Fight to Crush Evil and Reclaim our Souls

The world is going to hell in a hand basket  simply because of God’s children have grown far too big for their britches.  The arrogance of man has spread from father to son, mother to daughter for centuries, decades and eons.  It is passed down from generation to generation and diluted with a belief that to honor one you have to dishonor another.  The offspring’s fail to learn from the lessons of the parent. God is our one and only father, we were made in his image and thus are only a spirit.  The body our spirit occupies was made from dirt and clay so as the body decay, the spirit remains.  During our existence within this fragile shell, we can grow in spirit and become the child God knows us to be or we can choose to limit our expansion by following the selfish impulses of mortals. God’s one and only mistake was to attempt to govern the behavior of man with 10 rules.  He soon learned that his was not doable and rather than continue to risk t...

My idea on how to properly deal with emotions

Common wisdom has us believing that emotions are controllable and that they can be dealt properly with just an expression of them.  I disagree with this common wisdom and the evidence of why is all around us. Common wisdom says that if someone makes you angry, all you need to do to deal with it properly is to find a non-combative way to let them know.  While this does ease the immediate sting of that action, it does not completely erase the emotion of anger.  There are still parts of that situation which plays over and over again within the confines of our mind and may again raise its head at a later time.  We often then attribute it to something else but for some reason do not completely accept that reasoning and often cannot figure out why.  Simply put, it is because assignment of another reason for that anger is wrong and deep within the very essences of which we are we know this that is why it does not sit right from the beginning.  So what do we d...

The Hidden Truth Behind all Crimes

Greater minds than mine has called themselves studying this dilemma regarding the primary reason or reasons behind why crimes are committed and if you check on their progress you may find a few strange and mysterious reasoning’s to include but no limited to a defective brain, destined by DNA, criminal mothers or fathers or just plain bad people.  Today’s great minds have now concluded that it is more about the over-whelming desire to have the better things in life with money the only real avenue to that dream and some may settle on the over-whelming lead level in the local drinking water causing mental and physical impairments that so far, a pill cannot cure. All these may make sense to many and seem fine to accept by others but there is another truth behind all crimes which many fear to admit and hide to avoid personal responsibility.  It is said that the primary reason behind crimes is the opportunity to commit it but think about it.  We believed this at one time e...

How labels are destroying this nation with the help of religion

It’s becoming quite clear to me as to why many of us feel that God does not exist and it is not because of what we know is true but what we choose to accept as truth.  We know, within the very being of our soul that God does exist and he exists within each and every one of us.  We know that the true spirit of God is the image in which he created all of us and we know that what is on the outside of anyone is not anything close to the real spirit that dwells inside.  We know that we are much more alike than we care to admit and we know that righteousness is not a rite of passage or heritage but an innate sense that each of us have which compels many to do the right thing even when a force much larger is determine to convince us to do wrong. We get this sense of belonging and this sense of right or wrong not from God, as religion would love for us to believe but from man.  At no time did God ever divide us into blacks, whites, Hispanics, Asians or any other racial ...

If you want to know why we are in the mess we are in, the lack of Pride

Pride used to be something that we all felt when we accomplished a goal that we set for ourselves and the majority of the time it was not a goal for all to see or hear about.  That is the major difference between pride and arrogance.  Pride makes you smile from the inside as you recount accomplishing that goal while arrogance makes you smile only when someone sees and comments when you have accomplished something.  We used to take pride in mostly everything we did, which elevated our attention to detail and level of work but today that sense of pride does not exist and we simply only do enough to get by. There used to be a time when we sought to do a better job than we did yesterday not for the sake of the company but for the sake of ourselves.  Coming home at the end of a hard day used to make us walk taller and broader but now coming home after a hard day’s work means that you had to put up with more drama than you did yesterday.  You come home angry and ...

Children begin to learn hate at home but it continues within our Churches

Find me anyone who disagrees with this title and allow me to have a conversation with them, before long you will see clear and convincing evidence that this is more than just pure speculation, it is fact.  It will begin, as all things normally do, as a frank debate and civil discussion but soon it will elevate to personal attacks and in some cases violence because one of those speaking will run out of defenses for their indefensible behavior and resort to that tried and true method of dismissing, ignoring and cowardly act which is violence.  Begin to notice people, that those who turn to personal attacks do so because reasonable retorts to opposition of ideas are no longer available to them. To watch children play proves that they do not care what color that other child is as long as they play nice.  They do not care about color as long as the other child treats them with respect and as a friend.  They do not care unless they have reason to care and that reason ...

Understanding Life

To understand life, one has to first define his/her definition of what life is to them, then measure their individuals lives by that definition.  The problems occur when your definition of life is not met by others and in many cases then never met by you.  Life is basically fifty (50) percent mental and fifty (50) percent emotional meaning that half the time we may be forced to mentally propel ourselves through a situation or circumstance with the other half spent on dealing with situations or circumstances based on nothing but pure feelings. We know that the true meaning of life is nothing more than perception.  If you believe that a particular group of people are lazy, shiftless, arrogant or privileged then you will more than likely proceed through your life dealing with any situation of circumstance based on that belief.  Those whom you meet will first be required by you to overcome your pre-conceived perception before ever getting an opportunity to prove you...

Civil Suit over Barmore shooting death prove that you cannot serve two Masters

You can get no more evident that how we currently live today is to pleasing to God than to have a church file a lawsuit against the city of Rockford, IL when the Bible clearly tells us that Christians do not sue another.  Now maybe some will say that the city of Rockford is not a Christian because it is not a person then we can say the same about the church, can we not?  Some may say that the children who was present during that shooting has been scarred for life and deserve some sort of compensation for their duress, pain and suffering but I say if you are attempting or had been attempting to teach these children the true word of God at this daycare then why not show them the ultimate lesson that Jesus shared with us, turn the other cheek. The title of the article is “ Trial nears in Rockford civil suit over Mark Anthony Barmore shooting death ” and it reports that “ a trial in a lawsuit stemming from the officer-involved shooting death of Mark Anthony Barmore could begi...

Hey America if you wish to stop evil in the world stop being ignorant

Stupidity can be fixed and often is when those who are stupid learn more about that subject which displays them as being stupid.  Remember stupid does not know something but ignorance is much harder to fix because it is often taught and  en grained  within us so deep that it may take years to uproot and destroy.  Some find it relieving to have ignorance uprooted and therefore will allow their beliefs and values to be enhanced or questioned but so many of us are so bull-headed about what we believe or was taught that to even begin the process of educating them on another perception often results in violence or the threat of violence. If one notices, may differ and become quite animate, vocal and violent when it comes to labeling and recognizing evil.  Some has even gone as far as to blame the existence of evil on God and throw up their hands claiming if he truly existed, there would be no evil.  The only problem with this take on earthly life is th...

16 year old Illinois girl is dead stop me if you have heard this before

From the Associated Press comes a news story that hits very close to home but sounds so familiar as to make many think that this is the very same story that they have heard before.  The situation may sound the same but it totally about a different child and a different set of parents who must now bury that child all because they thought that their child would never do something that would cause her death in such a grotesque manner as this. The title is “ McHenry County girl dies in Arizona after being shot” and it reports; “ Police say a teenage girl reported missing in Illinois has died in Arizona after being shot.  Phoenix police say 16-year-old Faith Kies of McHenry County, Illinois, died at a hospital Saturday after being shot Friday night.  Police found her wounded inside a home where a man described by police as her boyfriend was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  He was identified by police as 24-year-old Alexander O'Neill. The shootings oc...

Men may hold the Key to the Solution to Failing Relationships

Growing up, in this male-dominated society, a little boy dreams of the day that he becomes a man.  Back in the day, a man was measured by two things.  The first was refusing to cry and the second was after his first sexual experience.  No one told that little boy that one would have such a determining effect on the other or that these two things would never make a boy into a man.  As the years passed, the measurement of a man changed a bit and while the first two things were still being taught or considered part of the measurement of a man, a third was added which is still true today.  The third was whether the male remained to raise his children and the lessons he taught them.  What was still not known or just not taught was that in order to be able to perform the third you truly needed to master the first one.  Only recently have it become known that refusing to cry is not a true mark of a man because any male who call themselves a man should never ...

Discover You

Ashley Madison was a typical mixed race child with her daddy’s features and her mother ways.  She was a social butterfly when she was born but slipped back into her cocoon when reaching grade 5.  Her family wondered what happened to the care-free child of birth but never was able to help her break out of her shell.  They tried desperately to return her to the person she was at birth but failed in every attempt because Ashley was not ready to blossom.  So all that they could do is constantly remind her just how special she was and to make sure she knew that the world was a much better place with her in it. Through the years, Ashley remained somewhat settled within her shell and her parents would see glimpse of her when she was around family.  It seemed that the harder she tried to make friends, the less successful she was.   Ashley's  interest in art was sparked when her parents purchased an art set for her one Christmas and that proved more h...

Rediscovering Religion

After completing and publishing my newest book titled A Twist of Faith-The Emergence of a New Religious Doctrine, I was asked what my purpose for publishing it was.  My answer to make people think on a deeper level about religion and began to use their own analytical skills to determine how it should work for them.  It wasn’t until last night did it occur to me that the answer should have been more detailed. I suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD and when it hits, I find myself easily angered by the smallest of things.  Through-out the years, I have learned a great deal about the disorder and have come to be able to control it instead of it controlling me.  What I mean by control is not being able to bring it on and cut it off because no one can control that.  What I do mean is when it strikes, I do not allow it to take complete control of me and do something that I would not do during non-affected times.   In the beginning I used t...

When anger directed toward you is really not about you

Often time’s things happen in life that forces us to ask the question “What was that about” and when that happens there are but two clear choices.  The first is you deserve the fire for what you did but choose not to remember or it is what is referred to as “displaced anger”.  In order to know which one, take a step back and search your very soul to find out if it was truly something you did.  If it was then simply apologizing will correct the situation but if it wasn’t then take heart in knowing that the anger you just witness is an indication of something much deeper and if that person is truly a friend.  It is a sign that maybe you need to offer your help in solving. Many times anger directed toward us is really not about us and more about a deeper unsettling of the person expressing that anger.  Suppose you have finally gotten your fill of someone seemingly to be taking advantage of you.  You feel less like telling them where to go and drawing them...

What does it mean to be Black?

Personally, I can’t see anything wrong with finding pride in which you are.  My problem begins and ends with that picture of you being a concoction of how others see you versus how you see yourself.  If you see yourself a particular way and it gives you the strength to carry on, move forward and stay positive then more power to you but if does not then I beg each and every one of you to rethink your definition of who you are even if you might have to deeper within you than you have ever gone before to find it. Many say that this may be the failings of blacks that we do not look deep enough within ourselves to find who we really are and therefore end up accepting the definition handed down through the ages.  What does it really mean to be black?    Was it just a definition of a people that was designed to help slave owners tell the difference between those they brought back and those that was here already?  Was it true of a race that the Klu Klux K...

How and where to find that perfect mate

Every human being in this world searches for one thing and one thing only that is that perfect mate.  Life’s trials and tribulations are stacked full of those relationships that started out great but soon sputtered out.  It is full of those untaken chances at love and those times when what you thought was truly meant to be was not.  So we continue to search and only those we feel are more blessed than we are find what they say is the only one for them, but truth be told, those who are appears most happy together are those who are not afraid of taking that next steps and doing the things that is necessary to find that all elusive happiness we all crave. There are a few things you may have heard but never put into practice or gave up on far too early in the relationship.  There are a few things that you need to know or be reminded of.  One of the most important is that perfect mate does not come in a pre-packaged container and have all of the ingredients you ...

I am who I make myself out to be

I used to think that we are the sum total of our experiences and our reactions to them but I am beginning to see that we are simply the sum total of our reactions.  I think this now because the same experience can happen to millions of people and none of them turn out to be exactly alike even if many of their reaction were the same.  Each of us take away from any experience what we choose to learn from that encounter and because only that single solitary individual can choose what lesson that they wish to heed, they are in complete and total control. Car accidents happen each and every day and those involved come away from it with a change in their prospective, way of life or perception of what is important.  Many may repeat the same saying about importance but that does not by no stretch of the imagination make that the number one lesson learned.  Some will never drive again, some seek comfort in a bottle or drugs, while others get right back upon that horse....

Why Some Men find Some Women so Confusing

Trying to understand and keep some women constantly happy is an age old journey that men have been on for years and is still searching for an answer today.  One can assume that it began when Eve was born of Adam’s Ribs.  When it was first realized was probably also when the phrase “walking on eggshells” came from. Here’s the condensed version of the situation.  Some men will go out of their way to make the lady in their lives happy even if it means doing a lot of things that they really do not want to do.  They will rationalize it as “no big deal” or “a happy wife is a happy life” but really it is to keep the drama and noise down at home.  If you wish to watch your favorite television show, you must first make sure that you have done everything your lady wants you to do before it starts, so you ask the question and whatever she says at that time, you make happen.  Once you have satisfied all of those requirements, you confidently think that now you wil...
