The Voting Rights Saga-Re-establishing the Southern Strategy
Many people
are all up in arms about the recent Supreme Court decision to gut a portion of
the Voting Rights Act and the long-awaited voting rights laws that’s affecting
many Republican-controlled states and municipalities, but what they seem to be
missing is the real reason why.
Some say it
is to stop a certain type of voter from voting in the up-coming elections, some
say it is to give the GOP a better chance of controlling all aspects of
government both local, state and national but there are those who say that it
is to fight voter fraud. Regardless of
which you choose to believe and you are free in this country to believe
whatever you desire, one thing is extremely true and undisputable.
It is the
new adaptation of the “southern strategy”, one where the “closet Klan members”
and “fake Christians” rule as they did in the time of Jesus where only the laws
of Moses were important to those religious and righteous leaders. Where a simple man born to a carpenter could
never possess and did not deserve to even dwell in their presences. Now no mortal can ever be equal to Jesus but these
leaders of today can surely be compared to the ignorant and arrogant Pharisees.
They know
not what they do because military members from World War I to Afghanistan and
Iraq fight for the freedom and equality of all Americans, not just their
kind. So exercising this new strategy, dishonors
our sacrifice and violates the very document that many claim to hold so
dear. The U. S. Constitution declares
that all men are created equal and are endowed by the same inalienable rights
except in the case of these phony caretakers of America.
It is so sad
to see so many refusing to step up and bury their heads deeper in the sand
because they still believe that what they not see will never hurt them. Tell that to the next accident victim who did
not see the car that just hit them. The real story behind this new southern
strategy is nothing more than a power struggle over control of others and a way
to get an infusion of money coming into their states and communities to save
their local economy by those of us determined to see it fail. Great plan don’t you think?
