Article title about Marine Helicopter crash gravely misleading

The article titled “ Leader of Marine helicopter squadron fired days before crash ” written by Audrey McAvoy for the Associated Press, one would think that the leader who got fired caused the crash of those two helicopters himself and that it would probably not have happened had he been fired after the maneuvers were over but then that reasonable person would have been wrong. The article talked more about the firing of the air wing commander and a little about the crash but nothing about how the crash had anything to do with the firing unless, the commanders had allowed chicken fights between helicopter pilots which may explain why one may have crashed into another.  It’s the only thing that I can think of which may make any sense but it is also something that should have been asked and answered by those in charge since the loss of life was more than just copter and pilot but other people’s sons and daughters who were  on board  those crafts.  Maybe the lea...

Even Ignorance cannot save you from this Unbalanced Justice System

You ask me why I say unbalanced justice system and I simply have to answer, pick up a local paper, magazine or turn on the news and look closely at those stories reported that are similar in circumstances.  If you are able to see the difference in reporting and the results then you may understand why I say unbalanced but if you cannot then maybe it’s just me who is unbalanced. Take this article titled “ Chicago man convicted of murder for giving teen niece gun used in fatal Facebook confrontation ” written by Jason Silverstien for the New York Daily News  In this article it talks about an uncle giving his niece a stolen gun and escorting her to the home of the girl she ended up shooting.  In a court of law, he was convicted of murder for his ignorant judgment of giving his niece a gun and going with her as if this was the adult way to handle any dispute.  How I see this as unbalanced is Tamir Rice is dead because someone gave that officer who was seen as unfit b...

How to gain an Incredible Amount of Influence and remain Genuine

By Timothy Organ, Feb 1, 2016 I like having an incredible amount of influence. If your spirit can become friends with another spirit that bond alone will move mountains. That’s how you have an incredible amount of influence. That is what makes leaders. Just remember though persuasion is not influence. Persuasion is using the body to influence the body of another, there's no loyalty or respect in that at all, the spirit may or may not be that friend and trust is in jeopardy.         Under the influence, a person submits to the will of another. In this pretext it is best applied when that other person realizes they are not the final answer and submits themselves to the will of someone else. Where that will is, determines whether or not the influence is good or evil. Today’s society wants us to control our own destinies.         When we realize we have no control and submit to something greater than ourse...

What some PTSD Suffers need others to know

We understand that some of you wish nothing more than to help and reduce the burden this disorder has on those that they occupy but before you can help, you must first understand just what is happening to that person you love so much and would give anything to help but can’t.  First you must realize that it is not all about you and stop thinking that you are failing because you can’t help.  It is and always will be about the person suffering but when you switch it and make it all about you, the help that you could have given is no longer welcomed by the one who is doing the suffering.  If you wish to help, I mean truly want to help then listen closely as I tell you what you can do. First get over yourself and realize that only those who want help will take it and not everyone who asks for help really want it.  The best you can do in this situation is to listen without judging and without conversation.  Just listen as they talk because the more they talk the...

You thought we made it all up, how about now?

Funny how when the bullets are flying, people seem to care so very much for the safety of the troops and act as if they truly do mean it when they say they support us but long after the bullets stop flying and the term of enlistment is over, the numbers of those who claimed to care before diminishes and those who said they support us then disappear and can never be found again at least or until there is another war that they will never have to serve in or during. People believe that stress is caused by an action but they are so very wrong.  It may be the cause of action when you are a civilian but as a member of any military stress can be caused simply by waking up every morning.  Think about this; while serving in the military you follow orders, orders that you have no idea who made them or who dreamed them up, you just follow them.  Each and every day you wear that uniform, you will feel a certain expectation that at any time some politician or some big wig could d...

Is School Counselors a waste of money?

Can someone please tell me when the job of school counselor went from teach our children how to settle disputes without violence and morphed into their only job being changing a student’s class schedule, handing out those class schedules and locker combinations?  Maybe it’s just me and this was always the case.  If so then please forgive my interruption but if it’s not then it is high time we looked at reversing that policy and put them back to the purpose of which that position was formed. I thought that a school counselor’s job was to teach our children how to resolve disputes without violence even if that student home life and surroundings are filled with it.  I thought they were allowed to pull each student into their offices, find out what the real problem was and then find avenues to fix that issue so that student could proceed with getting a good quality education and not be allowed to fall through the cracks of a system normally comprised of people with grown...

City Governments blows billions of Taxpayer’s money and no one seems to care

Maybe it’s just me but has anyone else noticed that some cities’ seem larger and more difficult to than the federal government’s?  Has anyone else ever wondered why some cities spend so much money with nothing to show for it that actually betters that city or its citizens as a whole?  Maybe it’s me but before we attempt to advise another city or municipality about what they should be doing, shouldn’t we clean up our city first?  I mean that throwing stones and living in glass houses sort of thing. The reason I bring this up is this morning, I unrolled a copy of the Rockford Register Star, our local paper and saw a headline that says Rockford to go ahead on geopolicing.  The article was about finally placing police departments in three different areas of the city instead on one general location.  It spoke about hiring a consulting firm to come in and show them how it will look, buying up homes and buildings and then halting everything because the money was t...
