Media Fooled Again Covering Ex-LAPD Officer’s Killing Spree from Wrong Angle
The first time I heard
about Christopher Dorner and his killing spree, I was glued to the television
and checking all stations for some more news.
All I got was focused on the alleged shooter and why he was so wrong in
his actions. Strangely, I understood this
as the initial reaction to a story like this but as I am well known to do, I
trusted that some journalist would dive deeper and attempt to discover more
about why someone who had spent the majority of his life defending those who cannot
or choose not to defend themselves would now, all of a sudden, turn and begin
to commit the acts he swore to uphold.
That was until I read this article by Sharon Bernstein for NBC News Los Angeles
titled Manifesto: Alleged Cop Revenge
Shooter Named Targets, Blamed Asians, Hispanics and Lesbians and Updated
5:09 AM PST.
In this article Ms.
Bernstein not only reports the news but also posts as much of this Manifesto as
possible which allows readers to learn a little bit more about the
circumstances behind Dorner’s actions.
While, not even Satan himself can justify Mr. Dorner’s acts, the article
does expose several questions behind why the LAPD is now offering this 1
million dollar reward to silence him. My
biggest disappointment is that this article is the only one which appears to
want to cover the whole story instead of the one released by the LAPD. Whatever happened to unbiased reporting? As Paul Harvey used to say, tell the “whole
story” and not just the one you favor most.
From CNN to Ed Schultz and
MSNBC, the only slant I have heard is how it is so very important that Mr.
Dorner’s reign of terror is ended and how the LAPD is removing all stops to
bring this to a conclusion. Now we all
know the “stellar” reputation of the LAPD and how upstanding, transparent and
honest it is (joke). So why no one is
covering it from the angle of Mr. Dorner being right and LAPD is full of “go-aloners
to get alongers”. From the point of the LAPD
living in a glass house but keeping their dirty laundry in a secure and closed
basement. From the point of lack of
consequences for those hired to “serve and protect” using their power and influence
from top to bottom to keep silent all those who may be compelled to reveal the
real truth behind the curtain.
I do not agree with Mr.
Dorner taking the actions, his manifesto proclaims. I think that he did not exhaust all other
possibilities before he choose the path that he may be on. I do not agree with sacrificing his life at
the end of a gun by justifying taking another’s life by the same means and I
think he owes it to all those struggling to keep doing right while it seems
that only those doing wrong are rewarded.
Having been fired, he was clear to now exact his revenge on the LAPD
without firing one shot. He could have
made his case and found support in the public because there are very few, I
know, who have not been a victim to this very same thing as he says he was
subjected to. Maybe not in the LAPD but
in other agencies, groups, jobs and yes, even in the military. If you are fighting to clear your name, you do
not want to muddy the waters as those looking in are trying to see clear to the
bottom.
Will it ever come to pass
that the events spoken about in Mr. Dorner’s letter will ever come to
light? Yes, but maybe not for a very
long time. Mr. Dorner had the chance to
bring all that to light and finally fix a problem that has being plaguing
America for so long now but that chance is now gone. No one will ever view this case as nothing
but another military man losses his mind and those who are behind the curtain
will stay safe, secure and happy to ruin others’ lives. Will Mr. Dorner be captured alive and
interviewed by unbiased journalist where we can get to more of the truth? I doubt it because this is not what those in
power want to happen but especially because of what was found in this article
by Cmdr. Andrew Smith saying that the department "is not opening it
because of the accusations or because of the musings of someone who is a
multiple murderer now," “He can turn himself in and he can be able to get
his side of the story out." What
does this really mean is already, at least, Commander Andrew Smith has not only
heard all of the evidence against Mr. Dorner but has judged and convicted him
before ever stepping foot into a courtroom.
If the Commander is thinking in this capacity, you can safely assume
that the majority of those looking for Mr. Dorner are thinking that way as
well. If Mr. Dorner is not already dead
and the body count is being thrown upon him to cover other sinister occurrences,
it is highly unlikely that he would survive to “get his side of the story out”
as proclaimed by Commander Smith.
