Congress shows their Hatred of Obama by throwing America under the Bus
According
to the article titled “Boehner
invites Netanyahu to address Congress on Iran, after Obama veto threat”
by an Unknown Author for Fox News.com, “House Speaker John Boehner announced
Wednesday he is inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address
Congress next month about the threat from Iran, in a sharp rebuke to President
Obama. “Prime Minister Netanyahu is a great friend of our country, and this
invitation carries with it our unwavering commitment to the security and
well-being of his people,” Boehner said in a statement. “In this time of
challenge, I am asking the prime minister to address Congress on the grave
threats radical Islam and Iran pose to our security and way of life.” “Boehner
told members of the GOP House Conference on Wednesday morning: “The president
warned us not to move ahead with sanctions on Iran, a state sponsor of terror.
His exact message to us was: 'Hold your fire.' He expects us to stand idly by
and do nothing while he cuts a bad deal with Iran. Two words: 'Hell no'." He said: "Let’s send a clear message to
the White House – and the world – about our commitment to Israel and our allies.”
Boehner
and Congress is playing a very dangerous game right now because of what is not
in this article. President Obama and
Prime Minister Netanyahu have two very different ways that they see dealing
with Iran. President Obama wants to try
and reason with them while keeping all options on the table while Prime
Minister Netanyahu is willing only to explore the military option. This seems like a smart strategy to them because
none of those refusing to try something new will ever have to put their lives
in jeopardy and appears to not mind putting the lives of other people’s
children in harm’s way. Where this game
of “one-upping” the president is dangerous is once it is fully understood by
the people of Iran, that America and those attempting a different track are
doing nothing but pulling their chains, the hateful rhetoric by Iranian leaders
will heat up and those who have pushed hatred of this country for so long will
be proven right.
We
say this nation wants peace all over the globe but we make no effort in trying
to get that because we are still stuck in this childhood playground game of
trying to find out which kid has the biggest toys. Mr. Boehner says that the president expects
them to sit back and do nothing which may be simply because when it comes to
authorization of the current conflict or passing jobs bills for America even
fixing our immigration problem, that is all Congress has been doing is sitting
back. I guess it’s true, hate someone
enough to win regardless of the cost. I
guess the health, wealth and the welfare of this nation is the cost of doing
business in Washington. Then again, none
of those in Washington will ever have to worry about dodging one bullet if we
have to fight those we refuse to talk to.
