The Reason for my Media and Public Outrage
For quite
some time now, I have been railing against the ignorance shown when we do not
consider the entire story but only select that portions which best suit our
purpose. This selective choosing does
not prove our point because after, as Paul Harvey used to say, the whole story
is revealed, any point we think was made is completely washed away as well as
our credibility and reputation. It’s the
same thing when you hear people quoting back to you Bible verses. The ones or part of them are used to try and
prove their point, it is later shown that this was not the entirety of the
passage and had they read further, perhaps they would have gotten a different interpretation. When this is done, whoever is using that
passage is now guilty of attempting to mislead their audience and lie on
God. Lying on God is not a mark of a
good Christian, in my opinion. It’s a
good indication that they person from whom this lie comes are doing Satan’s
work and not God’s. It’s understandable
to get a totally different interpretation from the exact same passage that
someone else received a different reading from, but to preach your
understanding as gospel while ignoring or refusing to accept another’s, is
nothing less than hypocritical.
My example
is; many are upset that President Obama signed into law H.R. 933 which for some
was a good thing because it prevented a government shutdown, extended the
Violence against Women Act, and continued the SNAP Program for poor families
and so many other things. Media is not
pushing this but they are pushing something that was attached to the bill by
what is referred to as a “rider” called the Monsanto Protection Act. Now a rider is considered not a part of the
original or actual bill but an addendum to it so if the bill is signed into
law, then this rider is also enacted into law as well.
Many are
upset because this Monsanto Rider allows companies to grow genetically altered
foodstuff and do not have to divulge what is in it. While most of us can agree this is not an act
of a legitimate company and for a country of choice. It is big business being able to do whatever
it is most profitable at the expense of their customers without any fear of any
retaliation by the people’s primary representatives, namely our government. Now those who are outraged are taking aim at
President Obama. There is more to this
story but you will probably never hear it from our voice media since it is more
about justice than conflict.
According to
Ms. Sarah Jones’ article titled “Obama
Can’t Fix Congress’ Monsanto Giveaway with an Executive Order “ written
for Politicususa on Mar. 27th, 2013 and can be found on www.politisusa.com, the “Monsanto Protection Act” (section 735)
was attached (anonymously) as a rider to a short term spending bill (HR 933).
President Obama signed it into law on March 26th. Republican Senator Roy Blunt
(R-MO) takes the most money from pro-GMO PACs in the Senate Appropriations
Committee, where this dastardly rider was secretly attached. Democratic Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) tried to
get the amendment taken out of the spending bill to no avail. The AP (Associated Press) reported on
Maplight’s analysis, “Current members of Congress have received $7,450,434 from
the PACs of these organizations.”
Now if this
is correct and we now have the whole story, does this information act as a “change
agent” in your mind as to whom we need to direct our disguise? If you say no, then I have got to question
your motives but if you say yes, then I say join the groups that are now formed
to fight this rider and all other gimmicks and tricks used by Congress to repay
campaign contributors for their generous donations. Now don’t get it twisted, not all politicians
are out for all that they can get at the risk of derailing this nation or its
people. There are probably more “good” politicians
than bad but bad is all we get to hear about.
Just like those who only use the Bible for their own purpose, those who
use “slight of hands” to appease their corporate bosses instead of those who
voted for them, will also pay a very steep price. We may be able to make them pay at the polls
but God will make them pay on judgment day.
I think I would rather not be around when they have to answer for everything
that they have ever done. I can assure you,
it will not be pretty.
